Both you and Vivax do not appear to be trying to hide and you have engaged multiple people. In my mind the best cues on day 1 are to look at who is speaking to who. Town players are not afraid to talk to everyone and I see that in you, cop, and vivax’s play.

I've learned not to read Vivax until after Day 1. As scum he can be active the first day, then he tends to fall off. His change of heart on me reads kinda townie-ish maybe? It depends on if the most likely alternative lynch is scum. If Shockeyy is scum I'm actually kinda sus of Vivax since he inquired to Grey about Eversince rather than Shockeyy, while he hadn't expanded on either mafia-ish read yet.
Shockeyy has practically no content, and that which is out there says absolutely nothing. As such, I don't know if it's because he's mafia and he doesn't like playing mafia, or if he's busy irl. He's pure null for me, which makes him more likely mafia due to other players having town leans.
Eversince has checked in once and I was not impressed.

Only post she's made with reads. "Vivax doing poorly, which is normal for him."..? In my experience, the early game is usually his best part as either alignment. She could have a different experience, but I'm not sure what the point of this read is. Reads on Cake and Shockeyy are very waffly. She's quantifying everything as 'but game is early', 'small game', 'has his own reasons'. It feels to me like she's trying to excuse her reads as being weak, when... of course they will be. It's the start of the game.

As Vivax and I mentioned last page, I am operating under the assumption that we were in mylo D1. So a cavalier “you should lynch me or him”’is rather suspicious because it both does not fully point the finger at a player or nail you down to a position, and seems to further a mafia agenda.

Even if it wasn’t mylo, mislynching a townie very rarely gives any good information anyway. Especially in a game like this, mafia would have very little at stake in backing that lynch.

But when we were hydra together we sticked to Monadel's plan of not lynching because town loses more and it is a game as small as this.
Cake hun you know that's only because I let you make executive decisions basically all game. I even said after Rayn died he'd of been passed for no lynching when we knew we had hit mafia 95%.

Honestly the last 2 pages really havent felt that helpful to me. Vivax feels more townie to me than before due to his usual tin foil hatting right after finding a reason to townread me. Only caveat I have on him is completely ignoring Shockeyy in the entire game despite him having been a topic, but he's my second strongest townread next to Cop at this point.
Ever's posting has not impacted my reading on her much. I can see her believing Vivax is mafia and follow her reasoning a bit, but it all feels forced out due to pressure rather than having an innate desire to do something.

Sacrificing a townie for information to a lynch is very rarely worth it. That’s because mafia is more than happy to ride the lynch like everyone else. We should never lynch a townie for information expect for truly exceptional circumstances.

Not shooting me might have been what gave you away. Partially it's the instant claim of being a vig and killing Shockeyy that makes me think she's either got more information than all of us as mafia, or she's exactly what I am. Well, in this game, every town member was a vigilante. 4 had J names, three were famous gunmen, two were cartoons from the same series, and two were specifically named John. Please give that some thought and don’t accuse me of yeeting setups again
Mafia had a fakeclaim- Samurai Jack. Played properly, as we saw, this worked great- they can associate as Goemon Ishikawa. Or, well, Jack is a J name- and close to John in that it has 4 letters.
The odd name out was Lupin; he could serve as an all claim miller since he is the only non J name.

Well, one way is to think, and not be trigger happy or too sus. But then, mafia literally can’t shoot till someone dies, so. Meh. But here are a few additional safeguards anyway, ripped from the hosting spreadsheet:

This only works with a closed setup! But that seems to also be why it doesn’t, sadly enough. CopCake, who we swore would be underpowered (since she couldn’t shoot until someone died) became massively overpowered. Let’s talk her powers by the way.
I did not want a scum with no NK playing on their own able to die N1. N2 though, they should be able to die. Especially if they are the only suspect; at that point town has won already. So, 7 vests should do the trick.
And lynch protection. But that’s too powerful, right? So, that lynch protection? It protects EVERYONE- until MYLO- because, there is so much town KP flying around that doing it this way means 1. Townies have a harder time killing each other and 2. This doesn’t make them OP against this essentially powerless scum by denial of information.
But what with everyone being a vig, if everyone full flips and one person just happens to survive every shot aimed at them... game becomes obvious. So, flips are alignment only.

Welp, gonna confess I was paranoid kinda, I was getting vibes that besides the shot maybe town had some extra power (I didn't know how Ever survived, even believed she was another mafia) so my ignorance not understanding the mechanics and lack of info helped me a little bit. That is why I didn't decide to use my gun btw.
I was also lucky that the two persons alive where from the same cartoon and decided to transform my fake claim into part of the main trio of the show, Ever being James Bond and the only not cartoon character was also helpful.

1x Mafia Super-Veteran - Has 7 bulletproof vests. - Slam and I had discussed giving a one-time use 1KP to mafia, although, I don't know if it was ever given or used.
Additionally, Mafia had a hidden passive mechanic that would have invalidated every single lynch except for LYLO.
It was a fun setup to watch, but from a game design perspective, I dislike mechanics that make players feel like they are "wasting" effort or time. I think some of the hidden mechanics unintentionally had that effect (particularly the "fake" lynch mechanic).

A solution here might be to have made 24 hour days, and preferably do something with the lynch mechanic. Some ideas: Mayor vote (with some powers), Town votes to give out an item (vest, bullets, etc), Jail (town roleblock).
I also am not a fan of setups with only one mafia. Or... well, I feel like this setup has Mafia and Town on very even grounds. Both parties are basically devoid of information and have similar objectives.
I could maybe see this evolving into something like the Assassin vs King (I forget the actual name) where Scum has a target they want to find and Town has vague knowledge about who they need to protect.

These all sound like excellent ideas, and good hotfixes if I ever run something like this again.

You could play as vanilla, dont rely 100% on mechanics.
