Generally if you don't have a lot of time, you should really focus on a few things rather than spreading yourself thin. If you had done that, I don't think people would've been as suspicious of you.
There's currently open spots for the Liquidmania #2 qualifiers, but that'll be a lot higher level game play and slightly different because it only has 9 players (7T, 2M). If you're interested, I suggest you observe the game with me and some others.
/obs'ing basically means you'll be put in your own private chat to discuss what you think is happening in the game, but you're not actually in the game. It's obviously a lot less stressful and time consuming and you can bounce ideas off of more experienced players as well.
Not sure when the next newbie mafia game will be, but think about signing up for it! It's probably the easiest way to improve, and expectations are a little lower.

I'm also sad B0ston was AFK because I read through his coaching QT and I actually liked a lot of his points and discussion with Koshi. It just didn't transfer very well into the thread, though that's kind of a common theme for newer players.

No, they really weren't. Maybe grack was before the claims but after the cc they had to go (you would have just postponed the problem and it isn't like nafia would have killed them or that people would have stopped talking only about them).

Boston (and other newbies who might be interested), lemme tack on to what DF mentioned....for some veteran games, where the moderator should allow it, you CAN shadow veteran players to get a sense for how they play the game and how the game SHOULD be played. The caveat here is that (to prevent wifom) you need to pick your player first before their alignment is given.
When the game begins, you and the player you shadow are given a private qt to talk about how (s)he approaches the game and why.

We've had a long talks about this. Each hosts games are effectively their own property (loosely) they have imminent domain over the rules in this game.
So will always have different ops generally.

Yeah, just have to show some fire and not give up even if you get wagoned (always the possibility of a CFD or a townie being lynchbait or what have you). If you want to up your game then pushing a tonne of misleading analysis while under pressure is a good place to start. Analysis > defending yourself is almost-always a better option regardless of alignment.
Players tend to make the mistake of defending themselves too much when they're under pressure which does nothing but clog up the thread (few defenses will really convince your accusers enough for it to be worthwhile). Just focus on analysis or "contributing" to the game and if people continue to call you scum for shitty reasons then you can call them out for it.
/m94 Not to say that you should ignore large accusations against you, just keep your responses to 1-2 posts before moving on and if the accusation is small then you can even get away with ignoring it (as to not draw attention to it).
Even works for both alignments.
