I think dma is maybe the one positive thing I have left as a legacy to tl mafia, even if it barely applies these days and isn't used properly.

IML is generally town-favored and this segmented IML is actually sliiiiightly more town favored because it adds a bit of needed structure to IML. Although I was raging about the incompetence of the non-Palmar parts of town in the Obs QT, it really didn't matter-- given the ability to indefinitely extend the day and the deadline to add enough structure that people didn't just get totally lost, this town was fine. They cleverly extended the day until they caught the scum, which is exactly what they should do.
FWIW I don't think WoS or Yam played amazing scumgames, but as Palm said this wasn't exactly a town stacked with loud people or anything. This was a great experiment in the lynch mechanic, and thanks Hapa for trying this out!

This was always my feeling as well - IML lets any remotely active/competent town "grind out" a win. That's why I tried to balance the setup with some scum-favored mechanics (no notifications, saving KP, etc).
Though this contrasts with the surprising "history" of these games.

Kita pulled up some stats that showed only 3 town wins over 13 recent IML games. Small sample size, yes, but still very puzzling.
