Yes I do have many questions.

1) What would you say about the contradictions mentioned in meatpudding's reads?

In your read, you said that

8. Meatpudding-leaning town
I agree with most of his reads. The only thing I dislike is how quick he is to see himself as the victim when Teemu is involved.

Can you give me some specific contradictions?

2)Which part of his reads (meatpudding's) do you agree with?

Show nested quote +
I still feel like Teemu is giving off scum vibes. Although I agree with Tolkien he does not make for a good day one lynch. He is playing as if a townie, and at least as long as he is not trying to derail the scum hunt, then he is useful to town. I would be critical of what he is saying for the time being.

And on Templar giving lots of information, which is most likely good.

3) Which part(s) of my read did you not agree with?

Show nested quote +
Lord tolkien, this is the wrong way to approach forum mafia. In forum mafia, you lynch for scum ONLY, not for information/clearing lurkers/usefulness to town. We usually clear lurkers with cops and people useful to town will die quick to mafia anyway.

I have a feeling you knew this. Coupled with how you wanted to go with meatpudding but went with scott just for a wagon, you're playing really scummy.

##Vote: lord tolkien

The first part is the part you retracted, I believe? If so, no problem there. Do you still suspect Tolkien bc he changed his target from meatpudding to scott? I thought his argument there was reasonable, it just makes me a little nervous that you saw it as SUPER scummy

4) Why is Jabber scumread for not substantiating his reads, but not others like scott?

You definitely have a point, neither are doing a very good job of substantiating reads. Like I said, I'm on the fence about scott, he has definite scum potential. I just think that, based off the rest of his posts, he has a better case for making newbie mistakes. @jabber can still change my mind

Hmm, it's a general feeling. Everything he posts seems pretty reasonable.
For example:

To clarify, I don't think you and Templar were buddying up like meatpudding (not I) suggested. The idea of THAT play seems too obvious and early.

Reaction testing,
he does this in video,
neither town nor scum

I thought Teemu's aggressive style might be for the purpose of reaction testing (that's why I left the suggestion of him having "a strategy" so ambiguous), so I liked hearing that thought backed up by someone who knows him.

Then after defending Teemu, he reread his posts and called him out on his play style. This reconsideration makes me think favorably of him.

However, he does tell people to stop judging Teemu based on video mafia, when he was doing that at the beginning...

Either way, I think the Teemu/Nydus interactions would be good ones to watch.

So I think I need to post my reads.

Lord Tolkien (fence)

My initial thought of lord tolkien was that I thought he was scummy - but I changed it when I realised he wasn't lynching lurkers for fun.

JabberwockZerg (slightly scum)

He is not substantiating his pushes, nor provides proper reads. Could be trying to skirt his way past d1.

Kotc (fence)

His scum meta is horrible - when he's scum, he posts so little it hurts. But he has certainly put in enough effort here. However, still lacking in decisiveness on a read.

Nydus (slightly scum)

His initial feeling given to me was that he is trying to solve the game - I don't see his attempt yet.

Solar

No cake.

Glowingbear

Have to wait for his posts.

Meatpudding (scummish)

His arguments can be used against him. Also, read my post on him.

Hobbitus (slightly town)

So far, attempting to solve the game. Reads were good.

Teemu (fence)

He is not quite willing to push targets and switch fast. However, he was leading discussion early on. Might just be indecisiveness?

Epishade (slightly town)

His reads were what I think too - reads on meatpudding were similar.

Scott (slightly scum)

Suffers from the same disease of not substantiating his reads, like jwz.

Templar (slightly town)

Reads were similar to what I feel early on. Yet to see what his reads now are though.

Mysterymeat (fence)

Does not push at all, yet throws out reads.

Blonde

No cake

Just from the looks of it, Templar seems to me to be townie so far. He's been posting a lot and replying to a lot of posts directed at him. Generally, too, when I think things to myself, and other people agree with what I'm currently thinking, I place those people in my town pile. I put Templar in there for his suspicion against Teemursu, which I had as well. Though he ultimately decided to vote on Scott, which I also believe to be a justified vote thus far. Sure, I guess a mafia could have done either just as well, so I generally don't put a lot of faith into day 1 reads. Just, so far, he's most townie to me right now.

I would like him to answer one thing I saw him post that seemed a little weird to me.

@Templar, what did you mean with these sentences about Teemursu? What was the "But he thinks I'm town." clause supposed to contradict?

He said that I gave off a towny vibe, but it could have been scum trying to make me look scum. It was very early in the game to be thinking anyone was town or scum, so it was sort of weird.

However:

I read Scott's posts and didn't really see any reason to vote on him. However its forum mafia, so voting 20 hours before deadline isn't that big of a deal as you can always switch. Don't mind him pressuring scott either.

When did I link my filter? I posted two posts from my previous game which basically said that I spent a lot of time playing mafia. Tolkien did link filters… even though you could find his last game in his post history. (In fact, I just did that.) Anyway, the game was over a year ago.

I mostly agree with this - and also since he is showing the most information in my opinion - he may be lynched by mafia - and since he may be thinking Cats -

If Cats gets lynched - Templar will go at night
If Meat get lynched - Templar may go as well

If Templar does not go at night - a slight scum read
Still suspect Templar town

Hope that helps how I feel with my townie friends!

I only have a slight scum read on Cats, which is not particularly strong at all, and I specifically said I don't have a read on meat yet in that post. I don't see why I'd be a good n1 kill in those scenarios, especially considering there are people that are also doing their best and reading just like I am.

I think you might be setting up something against me later. There will be at least 10 people alive day 2 if nobody gets modkilled, so why are you in this mindset of "The_Templar will probably either die or look scum by day 2"?

The post is a very big analysis post in general though, and you're clearly putting in effort, so:
##Unvote

Please unvote yourself and keep your head in the game. Also, I'd rather not waste a lynch when you can just ask to be replaced.

##Vote: HaruRH

Haru is not really pushing town agenda. Asking vague questions, not pushing anyone in particular. Calling out when Hobbitus contradicts herself, does not seem like a good read to me.

I'm still leaning towards Teemu as scum. Teemu and Templar have played before, maybe that is why they are acting familiar, but it seems like Teemu's reads are off.

Cats is asking lots of questions, I am leaning town here.

On Templar, I think only his one long post gives much info. I think he plays town, but could be trying to give false info.

Tolkien seems noncommittal, then starts a bandwagon. Not sure here.

Hobbitus not posting much but looks like town trying to get some early reads.

That's all I have for now.

Haru called out Tolkien as being scummy and voted him. He also pushed Hobbitus earlier, so he's definitely looking for scum. Maybe not as much as you would like, but certainly more than you…

I've never played with Teemu. Wtf?

If you think my long post is the only informative post I've made, you should read my filter again. Sure, none of my other posts have thorough analysis, but a lot of my other posts explain why I'm doing what I'm doing… particularly these, and I save my analysis for the big posts.

Why exactly does Hobbitus look like town? Just because she's looking for stuff doesn't really mean anything, and all she's actually said is that Teemu and I were probably not both scum making a play so early in the game.
(This is not a jab at Hobbitus because she seems to be making a longer post right now)
Starting to look suspicious to me. I'll wait for you to redeem yourself, but I'm on the edge of voting you now.

But I was just describing my general forum attitude. Since I signed up to play I intend to contribute of course.

Teemu was quick to call me out though, but he backed up Templar straight away. Two scum trying to blend in with town?

TheKingOfCats tries to lynch me as well, but I think he's town trying to prod me if I'm mafia.

I don't think scum align themselves so quickly. The read seems a bit weak but I don't necessarily think it comes from scum. Your read on TheKingOfCats seems to come from a towny perspective. Not sure what to think of you yet but leaning town.

Templar, my mistake. I was confusing you with something that Nydus said.

That seems like too obvious a play to me? I could see one or the other being scum but not both.

Uh, do you really think this is a play?

No, that's my point. Meatpudding is saying that's a play, but I don't think so. IF it is though, I think it'd be more likely that one is town and one is scum than both being scum.

If you don't think it's a play, do you have a specific reasoning for that? Who do you think is the town/scum?

Well like I said, it seems very obvious/early for a play? One "hey I think you're towny" post does not a scumteam make. It's more like you're sniffing out reads to me.

That being said, if it is a play I'd say you're more likely than Templar to be scum just because you do have such polarized reactions to people.

Now, you're raising flags here. I don't want to spoil your mood but once the day goes into full gear, you will only see one-sided polarised arguments filled with tunnel vision of each other. Also, by calling out the 'play', and yet saying you think it's too obvious/early for plays you're contradicting yourself.

I don't have a strong case against Haruhi. But this post seems to be contradicting what he said about not scum hunting on D1. I went with my vote for this and because besides from this he is not being too direct. I'm trying to avoid a mislynch and if you think Haru is not worthy to lynch don't vote.

On being paranoid of Teemu, he has been on my case since I introduced myself and hasn't let up one bit. He is pushing the lynch wagon hardest as well. Teemu strongest scum lean for me but I am not proposing a lynch because he posts a lot and might lead to more info and contradictions in the future.

Teemu, Templar and Haru are leaning scum for me, but sure the case is weak.

That's all for now. If I'm back before closing I can make another post.
Be excellent to each other.

@Meatpudding

??? I did not mention not scumhunting on d1 in that quote. There you are again, pushing me without strong cases.
I simply don't understand what did you not understand from that post.

1) what was contradicted? Against what?

2) not too direct with?

3) how and why did you even vote based on that post when you can't even explain what you thought was scummy about it?

4) why are you even pushing on teemu/templar/me when you don't even have a case, much less a case that is weak?

@hobbitus

Simply because of how meatpudding have been handling out reads. A scumread from me.

@meatpudding

And if your strongest case for why you chose teemu/templar/me as your scumreads because we wagoned against you, I'll be really disappointed.

Here are some things you need to do:

1) re-present a scummread on templar. Your previous read was based on something you mistook.

2) paranoia =/= scumread. Wagoning d1 isnt scumread. I need a stronger read.

3) Mistook post =/= scumread. I want a better analysis on my posts instead of reading them selectively and thinking you got the post you can use to fake a read.

HaruRH: moderate Town lean, perfectly happy with your posts thus far. Your play fits your described playstyle, and the fairly quick counterpush onto me when I started the bandwagon on Scott is indicative of a town reaction to a pre-emptive bandwagon. I find it doubtful scum would have attempted a counterpush and soft-defense of Scott at that juncture, unless they were both scum, and even then I'm not entirely certain they would...aka this wanders into the territory of useless relationship speculation which is useless without a flip.

Templar: On the flip side, Templar has in his most recent posts pushed himself towards a town lean for me. I was watching him closely after he decided to voice concern and bandwagon onto Scott immediately after I did both the aforementioned things first, but his recent posts have largely been town for me. I rank him lower than Haru as town for me atm.

Anyway, the game was over a year ago.

wat game was over half a year ago? pls clarify 4 me

Jabber: I'll be honest, I am getting a somewhat scummy feeling from jabber. The most recent post most definitely: says pudding is a townlean and votes for him afterwards? wat

The posts are generally designed to appear useful, but are actually all that. He is the first one to raise the Scott=inexperienced issue (irrelevant to why I voted onto him, but still a defense of Scott when scum would probably let him burn if he was town) however, which Nydus and Teemu bandwagon onto later. Which is why only a slight scum feeling.

I'd be most comfortable with a tolkien vote, but I want him to read my post about scott and react to it, defend his wagon.

What is the basis of the vote, and what post? If you mean "he just seems inexperienced", I believe that's already been covered by myself (or Templar, I believe), so there's no need to rehash it. If I'm voting off people who can't/aren't contributing, it kind of points towards experience being a potential factor, I would think.

Additionally, can you explain why you not only CHANGE your opinion on meatpudding from townlean to voting-for-him WHEN you say you'd be most comfortable voting for me (why don't you, there's no reason to wait, wat), AND change your opinion on Cats from "I like his posts" to "I'm on the fence" about him. Plz explain, they seem rather large discrepancies in your behavior.

Scott: Take that vote off yourself THIS INSTANT YOUNG MAN >

Ok but seriously, I was mostly pressuring you to give us reads of some sort. Your first response was to ignore the question about Cats/meat I believe, then randomly agreeing with Templar was also deliberately non-responsive. Given no one else was doing anything decisive, I figured I may as well go for some pressure. You're on my watch list, as there are things about your list that I don't like.

And I know how it is to get D1 pressured. That's the position I was in the past 2 newbie mafia games. Just FOCUS ON CONTRIBUTING to town and you'll be fine.

Mysterymeat: I never indicated I thought Cat was more scummy. wat?

Meatpudding: Any defense for yourself? You appear to be a prime lynch candidate. What do you think of Cats?

Epishade: has a good initial post. Best of the former lurker posts ATM. Town lean.

Everyone is mixed or slightly scummy. Teemu in particular has had a string of bad posts which make me doubt him. He doesn't say anything about the noticeable push onto Scott I (and Templar) made, or the spat between myself and Haru when we were on. He talks about how it doesn't change his opinion of Templar, but doesn't say anything about it until he quotes zabber hours later. Still says nothing about me.

Final note before I head out for a few hours: town will need to consolidate votes onto a few choice bandwagons, to keep scum from influencing votes. Let's outline the main lynch candidates for today, shall we? I'll be back soon with more reads and shit.

*final appended note, I'm unsure about Teemu now. A change from my solid town read earlier, though I think I need to reread his filter a couple more times.

Please share your thoughts after you read his filter! I am not quite sure what to think about him (slightly scummy for now), and would love a second opinion.

Or teemu could just post some more.
