Cheating:
Cheating includes (but is not limited to):
1. Posting after death. You may not post after death even just for popcorn.
2. Ruining the game by doing something like hand out your mafia's member list to the town.
3. Logging on to someone else's account to get their role or looking over someone's shoulder to get their role.
4. Comparing role PM time or phrasing to determine roles.
5. Posting screenshots of anything.
6. Posting or sharing any PM you receive from a host. General paraphrasing about your role and how it works is allowed, but otherwise you may not talk about any Host-Player interactions in thread.
7. Getting yourself modkilled. Your non-majority-decided death may not be used as a bargaining chip.
8. Signing up more than once using smurf accounts.
9. Betting items outside of the game in exchange for in-game benefits.
10. Sharing a hydra account with other players unless cleared by the host in advance. Otherwise, only you may post on your account.
11. Breadcrumbing the specific phrasing of your role PM. Do not compare the phrasing in your role PM to prove your alignment. You can claim the abilities you have, but you can't use the specific phrasing of your role PM.
12. Posting a false role PM phrased as if you received it from the host. You can still fake roleclaim, but you cannot make it look like you are posting a PM you received from the host.
Cheating is not tolerated here. The punishment will be severe.

Question Font:
This is question font. You may use this font to ask the moderators questions about the rules in the thread BEFORE the game has begun; you may also use this font to ask for vote count corrections in case of an error. Otherwise, do not use this font to ask hosts questions in thread during the game; if you have a rules question during the game pm the host. Questions will be answered but perhaps not how you'd like.

Activity:
You must be active as subjectively determined by the hosts. There is a one post and one vote per day absolute minimum; however, effort put into posting will be taken into account. If you are deemed to not be active, you will be modkilled and banned.

Spam:
Spam is not tolerated. So long as you stay on topic and are posting things relevant to the game then there will be no action taken against you. However, strategic spamming to bury posts or spamming off-topic material will be met with swift and supreme justice via modkill and banhammer.

Encryption:
Don't do it. This includes communicating via a non-English language in thread.

Editing:
Editing is not allowed for any reason. You will be modkilled for editing a post.

Inappropriate posts:
Posting slurs of any kind (racial, ethnic, etc.) will not be tolerated and will result in modkill and ban swiftly. Mean or belittling posts will result in at least warning in game; a second offense result in you being modkilled. Posts deemed to be abusive will result in a modkill. Play nice or you won't play at all. If you are offended by any post, please refer the post to the hosts' attention so that we may take appropriate action.

Reporting posts:
The report button is a nice feature for regular TL, but not for this forum. We prefer to deal with things in house if possible to avoid confusion among the TL staff. If you have a problem with how someone is posting, talk to the host, co-host, GMarshal, Flamewheel, or Mig before using your report button. Please do not use your report button for anything other than inappropriate posts which you feel are not being dealt with adequately.

Ban discussions:
Wait until this game is over to talk about modkills and bans resulting from this game. Talking about modkills in game WILL in the least result in you being warned and may result in you being modkilled.

Out of thread communication:
Hosts will provide a QT for mafia and hydra players to use. You are not required to use these QTs. Outside use of that QT is allowed at your own risk. Players not allowed to communicate outside the game will receive the banhammer for out of thread communication.


Signups:

This game follows the The Ban List 2.0. If you are currently banned, then you will not be allowed in this game. Additionally, the hosts reserve the right to disallow any player who has not proven the ability to consistently follow the rules of this game. Otherwise, this game is open to anyone sign up; however, it is recommended only for experienced players due to the potential for this game to be exceptionally volatile is not generally suitable for new players.

Smurfs:
Smurfs must pm the host from their primary account stating their smurf identity or the smurf will not be allowed in the game. The primary account of your smurf will not be revealed to anyone by hosts.

Hydras
Two-person hydras are allowed if players so desire to play. Hydra accounts are required to pm the host with the primary accounts of their respective heads from their respective heads. If I do not receive a pm from the primary account of both heads then the hydra will be disallowed. The primary accounts of the hydra will will not be revealed to anyone by hosts.



Game-specific rules:

Voting rules:

1. Voting is done in a separate thread here.
2. Only votes using the in the following format: ##Vote Qatol will count. Votes not done in the correct fashion will not be counted. Vote counts whenever the hosts are available to do so. Players may post unofficial vote counts either in that thread with a header stating Unofficial Vote Count.
3. No conditional voting.
4. You may not vote for yourself, for anyone dead or for anyone outside the game. You may ##Vote: No Lynch.
5. This game uses a plurality lynch system; as such, whoever has the most votes at the end of the day will be lynched.
6. In the event of a tie, there will be No Lynch.
7. Voting is mandatory.


Modkills:

This game follows the The Ban List 2.0. If you are modkilled, your punishment will go beyond being eliminated from this game. If anyone has any questions as to whether or not I will follow up on getting your ass banned, then please visit the The Ban List 2.0 so see how super srs I am. Please refer to it for questions about your punishment. If you want to use this game to sit out your ban, PM GMarshall and Geript in order to have the /sitout approved. Posting /sitout in the thread will not be counted.


Replacements

This game has no replacements. If you are unable to play, then you will be modkilled and a ban for your account may be sought for your primary account dependent on the situation.


Clues:

There are no clues unless you are Scooby Doo in which case then you will obviously have clues and Scooby Snacks.


PMs

PMs are not allowed in this game unless your role specifically allows it. Engaging in communication by players who are not specifically allowed to communicate by role will be severely punished.


Time Cycle:

This game will follow a 48 hour day/24 hour night day cycle. In case I am not able to post around deadline, any votes after the 48 hour mark will not count and the game will be put on halt until the night post is up. Currently the deadline is time, but that is subject to change. Actions/votes will be accepted up to and including the posted time, but not after. The deadline is 9 PM EST; if you don't use EST then getwrekt because I'm awful with GMT.

At the end of Day 1, there will be a 1 hour silent period to allow hosts to process the day 1 lynch and send out new role pms to all players


Play to win.

This means you play your best to help your team win while you are alive and in the game. However, this does not mean that you should try to win by being a jerk to the other players so they all want to quit playing. I take this exceptionally seriously. You risk a modkill and a ban for not making a concerted effort to try and win the game for your team.

This also means that you cannot leave the game without a good reason without a ban. These situations will be dealt with on a case by case basis. PM your host if you need to leave the game.



If you have not read all the rules, go back and do so. I have included them in spoiler so as to decrease space and pretty the place up. I will not compensate for ignorance! Should you break the rules I will seek punishment for you regardless of whether or not you decided to not read the rules. IGNORANCE IS NOT AN EXCUSE!!!!


This game has a huge potential for volatility and can potentially be won or lost very quickly. If you would not enjoy this type of craziness in a game, then you may not want to sign up for this game.

Setup

This is a semi-open setup for 12 players. There will be either 9 Town and 3 scum or 9 Town, 2 Scum and 1 Third Party Survivor. At the start of Day 1 all players will receive the one of the following PMs:
Vanilla Townie
You are a Vanilla Townie. You have no special powers other than your vote as of yet. At the end of Day 1 you may receive a new role pm if you successfully draft a new role. You win when there are no more remaining Mafia players.

Mafia Goon
You are a Mafia Goon. You have no special powers other than your vote as of yet. At the end of Day 1 you may receive a new role pm if you successfully draft a new role. You win the game when Mafia players equal or outnumber the Town and/or Third Party players remaining in the game.

Third Party Survivor
You are a vanilla Third Party Survivor. You receive an extra bulletproof vest to absorbs the first KP which targets you (this works against factional KP). Otherwise, you have no special powers other than your vote as of yet. At the end of Day 1 you may receive a new role. If you survive until End Game, then you win the game alongside Town or Scum.


Mafia KP is set at 1 and is factional.

Players will flip both alignment, role and role pm.



Draft Process

Phase 1--The Draft Order

Draft order:
The draft order works like this. Every player will pick 2 numbers between 1-30 and PM the host. Players must PM the host by the 24 hour deadline into Day 1 which will be posted and have reminder posts. Additionally, only the first set of numbers sent from a player will be used so if you change your mind then tough nuts. Once I have everyone's selections, just after 24 hours into day 1 the host will reveal the draft order. Note: If all players, send in their number picks prior to the 24 hour deadline, then the host will post the Draft Order as early as it is available.

The first number closest to 1 that is picked will be first in the draft order. Of course that would be too easy so if several players pick the same first number they ALL will be reset to last in the draft order. Then I would move on to the next lowest number (in this case 2) and the same rules apply. If no other player has picked the # 2 while someone else has, they will become first in the draft order. And so on until I get to #30.

Now the second # picked is used to determine who goes first in the event of players picking the same number. The lowest # of the second # goes first and so on. In the event players picked the same 2 numbers I will once again reset them to the back of the queue(for the order they are in).

In the event that your first AND second numbers clash with another player you both go straight to the bottom of the order. So if 3 players picked [4][1], [4][1] and [4][7] the 2 players with [4][1] are bumped below the player that picked [4][7] along with the original bump. All in all the most unique number combination gets priority.

Player G - [7][20]

Players B and C both picked 1. They go to the back of the queue. Player E is the next lowest # and the only one that picked 3. He/She goes first. Then player A since He/She is the only one to pick 4. Then Player D would have been next with 7 ahead of B and C, but Player's F and G also picked 7 so they both go behind Players B and C.

Current Order: Bolded players are locked into position.

Now I just resolve Players B, C, D,F and G. Between B and C, I look at the second #. B has a 12, C has a 6. So C gets to pick before B.

Now between D,F and G they all picked the same 1st numbers [7][?]. So I look at the second number to determine their order. Player G has a different number [7][20] whereas D and F both have [7][8]. Same rule as before and G gets to pick before D and F.

In the case of D and F I roll a dice to determine who goes first since they have the same 2 numbers. For arguments sake lets say F got a 1 and D got a 3 on a dice roll. F goes before D.

If a player fails to submit draft numbers, then they will automatically pick last. If multiple players automatically pick last, then I will randomly order those players into the last slots.

Phase 2--The Picking Process

Once the draft order has been posted players have approximately 24 hours, to PM the hosts as to which role they want to pick. At the end of day 1, a player will be lynched. That player will be removed from the Draft Order. The player highest on the draft order to pick a role will receive that role; anyone else (lower on the draft order) attempting to pick that role will remain as a Vanilla Townie, Mafia Goon or Third Party Survivor as appropriate. You may only draft 1 role. The first player to be lynched will flip as a Vanilla Townie, Mafia Goon or Third Party Survivor and will not be treated as the highest player on the draft order for the role they picked. If players successfully drafted a new role, then their role PM will be: Town // Mafia // Third Party followed by the Role PM of the role they successfully drafted, followed by their alignment's win condition. If a player fails to successfully draft a new role, they will be sent a new Vanilla Townie // Mafia Goon // Third Party Survivor role PM as appropriate.

General Outline

Day 1 starts Monday @ 9 PM EST-- Players have 24 hours to PM the host their draft numbers and players have 48 hours to lynch a player
Day 1 Tuesday @ 9 PM EST--Picking order is posted; players have 24 hours to PM the host their role choice
Night 1 Wednesday @ 9 PM EST--There will be a 1-hour mandatory Silent period to allow hosts to process the day 1 lynch and send out new role pms!!! Day 1 lynch is finished and processed; players receive new role pms as appropriate. All players regardless of whether they successfully drafted a new role will receive a new role PM confirming their role, alginment and win condition.
Day 2 Thursday @ 9 PM EST--Night 1 kills are posted and players have 48 hours to lynch a player.

Roles

All roles that may be chosen are in the spoilers below. Roles may have additional alterations based on whether they are picked by Town, Mafia or Third Party. Players who draft these roles may or may not be informed of these alterations after receiving these roles.

Universal Backup -
If there are any unselected roles at the start of Night 1, you will be immediately informed as to which roles are available to be assumed. Before the end of Night 1 you may PM the host to assume one of those roles and you may use that role on Night 1 if you so choose. You will then receive a PM changing your role (and role name) to that role for the rest of the game. As this is a passive ability, this ability is immune to being roleblocked. If you do not PM the host by the end of Night 1 to assume one of those roles (or if there are no other unselected roles), then you will remain as a Universal Backup for the remainder of the game. The unselected roles are: [available Role List with role PMs].


Veteran -
The first KP used against you is absorbed (this works against factional KP). You will be notified once this ability has been used. As this is a passive ability, this ability is immune to being roleblocked and requires no host PM notification. You still automatically die if you are lynched.


Roleblocker -
Once during each night phase, you may PM the host select one player by sending ##Roleblock: Player Name; that player is roleblocked for that night phase and for the following day phase (the power of their role fails for that night phase and the following day phase). You cannot roleblock the same player twice in a row. Players roleblocked by this ability will not be notified. You may not target yourself.


Jack of All Trades -
Once per game during the night phase, you may PM the host to select one of the following roles to use against a selected player by sending ##Role Name: Player Name. The roles from which you can use are Vigilante, Detective, Medic, and Roleblocker. The role which you use will follow all rules for that role except that you will act in the order of operations after the actual role acts. This ability is not refunded if you are roleblocked on the night on which you use it. You may not target yourself.


Role Cop-
Once during each night phase, you may PM the host to select one player by sending ##Arrest: Player Name. You will be PM'd the following day phase what the player's Role name is (e.g. Detective or Jailkeeper).


Detective -
Once during each night phase, you may PM the host to select one player by sending ##Investigate: Player Name. You will be PM'd the following day whether the party is Town-aligned or Mafia-aligned; Third Party Survivor returns as Mafia-aligned. You are sane.


Jailkeeper -
Once during each night phase, you may PM the host to select one player by sending ##Jailkeep: Player name. That player is roleblocked for that night phase (the power of their role for that night phase fails) and the first KP used against that player for that night phase is absorbed (this works against factional KP). The targeted player is neither roleblocked or protected for the following day phase. You may not target the same player twice in a row. Players roleblocked by this ability will not be notified. Preventing KP with this role will not give a notification to either the target or the jailkeeper. You may not target yourself.


Medic-
Once during each night phase, you may PM the host to select one player by sending ##Heal: Player Name. The first KP power used against against that player for that night phase or the following day phase is absorbed (this works against factional KP but not against lynches). Preventing KP with this role will not give a notification to either the target or the medic. You may not target yourself.


Vigilante -
Twice per game during any night phase, you may PM the host to select one player by sending ##Shoot: Player Name. That player is targeted with 1 KP on that night phase. You may only shoot once per each night phase. You may not target yourself.


Day Vigilante -
Once per game during the day you may PM the host to select a player by sending ##Kill: Player Name. That player is instantly targeted with 1 KP on that day phase which will be processed as soon as the hosts receive the PM. You may not ##Kill: Player Name in the last 12 hours of a day phase. You will not be refunded your kill if you are roleblocked for that day phase. You may not target yourself.


Assassin -
Once per game during any phase, you may PM the host to select a player by sending ##Assassinate: Player Name Role Name. If you correctly guessed that player's role name, then that player will instantly be targeted with 1KP wihich will be processed as soon as the host receive the PM and you will be able to use this ability one additional time on the following cycle. If you incorrectly guessed that player's role name, then your assassination attempt will instantly be reported to the thread as Assassin Player Name has attempted to assassinate (selected target) Player Name.. If you ##Assassinate: Player Name during a day phase directly after a night phase on which you were roleblocked by the Roleblocker or JoAT (Roleblocker), then your assassination attempt will fail, you will not receive another assassination attempt and there will be no notification in thread regardless of whether you were correct or incorrect. You may not ##Assassinate a player within the last 12 hours of a day phase. You may not target yourself.

If players do not properly notify the host through pm (e.g. using "Shoot Geript" instead of "##Shoot: Geript"), then the host reserves the right to use reasonable interpretation to execute the action. If a host deems a PM'd action to not be clear, then they will seek clarification if possible or not execute the action.



Order of Operations

The order in which role's powers will be processed is:
1. Universal Backup (only in regards to assuming a new role)
2. Veteran
3. Roleblocker
4. Jack of All Trades (Roleblocker)
5. Jailkeeper
6. Role Cop
7. Detective
8. Jack of All Trades (Detective)
9. Medic
10. Jack of All Trades (Medic)
11. Vigilante
12. Jack of All Trades (Vigilante)
13. Mafia factional KP
14. Day Vigilante/Assassin ** + Show Spoiler +
If both the Assassin and Day Vigilante take actions during the day phase, the first player to PM the host will have their action resolve first. Note: The Assassin role is processed instantaneously and as such is immune to being roleblocked if used at night. During the day phase directly after a night on which an Assassin or Day Vigilante was roleblocked by the Roleblocker or JoAT (Roleblocker), then their ##Assassinate: Player Name or ##Kill: Player Name will be roleblocked and that ability will fail. Neither will be refunded their ##Kill: Player Name or ##Assassinate: Player Name.

In the case of Roleblocker and JoAT(Roleblocker) targeting each other, Roleblocker successfully roleblocks JoAT. In the case of JoAT(Roleblocker) and Jailkeeper targeting each other, JoAT (Roleblocker) successfully roleblocks Jailkeeper. In the case of Jailkeeper targeting Roleblocker and the Roleblocker targeting the Medic, then the Roleblocker will successfully roleblock the Medic and the Jailkeeper will successfully jailkeeps the Roleblocker. If the Vigilante and JoAT (Vigilante) target each other, then the JoAT will die and the Vigilante will not.
