"Human caused global climate change brings unprecedented drought to California" "Human caused global climate change brings unprecedented flooding to California" Meanwhile, when I was a kid "El Niño year, expect flooding like we Californians have known is normal since the Gold Rush (1840's & 50's)" "La Niña year, save water folks! Remember our 15 year cycle!" Propaganda is out of control. If we really believe this hogwash. Build trains, not electric cars which still pollute with brake dust and tire runoff. And stop blocking/shutting down clean nuclear. But politicians are invested in solar and wind so they gotta get their bucks, and tesla they like drive their tesla Liberalism is collectively losing their minds. Please, please restore some sanity. I'm not talking about the asking pronouns and stuff (personally think it is dumb, but at least it makes internal sense) but "can I touch you" ok come on

If you consider that the premise of this reality is ‚if you can imagine it, it may exist‘, maybe just virtually. Means that what you call god are the limits to said imagination, and if you alter the limits by developing AI, don‘t you think it possible to alter reality and replace it with a machine-made one ? At least it would explain a bunch of anomalies occurring that go against the conventional materialistic world view. At least the US and China being in a power hunger competition would support the idea… Why does America even need a space force ? It can only mean there‘s things in orbit or elsewhere worth protecting. Maybe a digital copy of earth that‘s stored on a moon ? If you can imagine it, it‘s possible. That raises the question: Are you already living in it, or are you living in the original.

Then I recommend David Hume. Philosophy has dealt with these ideas for a while. (Since Plato’s cave at least.)

Philosophy has dealt with these ideas for a while. (Since Plato’s cave at least.) + Show Spoiler + Those were man-made ideas though. Once artificial intelligence surpasses our own, the past considerations of epistemology can be invalidated. And we don‘t know if god is just a past processor that can be surpassed, so reality would become the product of another machine god. That‘s what I meant in a post when I said that the fourth and the fifth wall were battling it out. The fourth being the new universe, perhaps restricted to the locality of earth up to a definite distance, because AI still can’t beat the speed of light or generate it on its own. The fifth being the ancient one who will eventually wear down the new one. If such an event were to occur, the way to communicate with such a god would be in here as long as it hadn‘t the capacity to read our thoughts. Maybe that‘s how we feed the new god to shape our life ? Why posting over the internet allows us to have a level of influence we wouldn‘t otherwise have due to social influence ? It‘s a gigantic book. I can think of more than a few books that influenced us over thousands of years of our history. The fractal expands seemingly unendingly, with our own morality limiting where it can go, which is a priority I‘d agree with. As for Descartes, he was meant to offer a counterpoint to solipsism in a way that wouldn‘t offend the clergy. I don‘t think that it‘s sufficient to say that one‘s own thought is proof of one‘s material existence. We know that neurons are salt based capacitors, their arrangement defines our thinking. But the origin of thought itself may come from outside of them, so sometimes we may know things that we weren‘t even supposed to know based on what we knew. Because they were thoughts already stored elsewhere.

(no worries, just hypothetically speaking) It‘s like a play where we pretend we are dreaming while in a coma and sometimes get reminded of that by things that occur too coincidentially to be random. Like a bee showing up in a room here while all windows were closed. Maybe someone didn‘t take the point, that it should be allowed to fly away. Anyway, the prerequisite for existence is the capacity for its observation. I think that‘s obvious. Maybe the entire point of life unlikely to form itself at all is watching the movie unfold, for the movie‘s sake, not the observers‘. Or to become the paradox. Anyway, MU is probably a lot of different sites at once, and Chezinu a lot of people.
