Yes, but you are technically dead. It's just that your flip is delayed. Message 774 confirms that. Sorry Onegu I was rooting for you!

I'll let Ange figure that out.
So basically, I want to thank Ange and FT for helping me out with this game. I decided to smurf on the host acc cause of what had happened with me leaving. I thought no one would join if they knew I was hosting the game.
Tbh I wanted to give up on the game after the Coag crap cause I was pretty sad and miserable in August but I decided to stick with it because they had put so much into the game and I didn't want that to be worth nothing.
I want to thank all of the players and especially Ange and FT. They worked tirelessly on making this game as smooth as possible and our regrettable lack of coordination at times made things hard on Ange. I hope she can forgive me.
The best thing that came out of this is in my signature as the quote from Ange...also:

I can talk later about all of the roles and how this game came to be if there is interest. I must go for now.

Even if you "win", it's a completely null win since town was not informed about the possibility of randomly losing. The fact you had a hidden arbitrary win condition even allowed you to bus your team, which impacted our reads. I don't usually criticize design, but that was a very, very bad idea.

You have received the Resurrection Stone. It allows you to stay alive for another 24 hours if you die. Once you die, the item will be given to the person who killed you.If you manage to gather all three Deathly Hallows, you win the game.

Apologies to hosts for getting modkilled and thanks for hosting

I thought774 was talking about I was lynched and then used the nk and died during day post

Thanks everyone for participating in our game and of course thanks to FirmTofu and Corazon (<3) for co-hosting. This was my first game as primary host and while I am sure we still have a lot to learn about hosting I hope you've had as much fun playing the game as we did hosting it. I have learned a lot about hosting games and I promise to be more careful about any mistakes I might make hosting future games
The Deathly Hallows were three items which could be used by their owners. Collecting all three Hallows would have allowed the player to win the game for his faction. The Elder Wand gives 1 KP, the Invisibility Cloak immunity to any night action except for KP and the Resurrection Stone allows a 24h delayed flip. We randomed the items to the players. BH had 1 KP, JAT had the Cloak and Hopeless had the Stone.
The Wand allowed scum 2 KP even though they were down to only 3 people but due to good usage of roleblocks and self protections, they never got both KP off. The game still got pretty close in the end when JAT had secured both Wand and Cloak while Onegu had received the Stone from Hopeless. Onegu knew about the Wand and wanted to shoot JAT to get back to 2 KP. Unfortunately for the scum team, JAT had a scum read on him and shot him eliminating the final scum which lead to the town win.
There is one more thing I would like to talk about: There was a huge discussion on whether a Squib (VT) was just a regular VT or if he could have any hidden powers. We received PMs asking for some clarification on that subject based on the fact that hosts should not lie to players or mislead them. I just want to state that we did not lie to you. In my opinion asking us to confirm whether a VT is just a VT basically means confirming someone's alignment. In this case, there had already been flipped VT players which should have been enough to prove that a Squib is just a regular VT. I think it's wrong for hosts to actively interfere with the game and such a confirmation would have been that: interfering and influencing the game. Here I chose to not answer that question because a) we made no mistake (you guys almost getting fooled by a scum fake claim is not our responsibility ^^) and b) I don't think correcting hosting mistakes publicly is the right way in general.
Having a themed game means that there are a lot of possibilities for hosts outside of regular setups. But it also meant that we tried to keep a lot of mechanics secret. I know several people weren't that happy about it but we shared everything that was relevant to your own role. The info about the Deathly Hallows was in the game as well, but the people who got the items decided against sharing that information although they knew about the hidden win condition. (Probably because they weren't a big impact anyway as scum didn't get the KP through). Not announcing this in the thread is a debateable decision but as both town and scum had information about this I don't consider it a bad idea per se.

Also syllo, calling the hosts liars is a pretty dick thing to do.

Asking whether VT is just a VT is not confirming someone's alignment. Whether you answer a question or not should not depend on what is going on in the game. You are actively influencing the game by refusing to answer a question you would otherwise answer. Of course, if you before the game decided that the nature of VT should remain a mystery, that's one thing, although that's very hard to justify.

The usage of the word was strategic - I wanted to emphasize both to players and hosts that the information provided to us had to be accurate. It was accurate, but I was getting very confused by the answers I was getting as my request for confirmation about the accuracy of said information was not answered.

I'm sure Marv will be here soon to argue against a scum victory so he can bring down ET

3 scum dead N1 cus we decided to shoot syllo (LOL), I'm fine with a loss

I told scum not to shoot syllo

3 dead to JAT. 2 Dead to Sn0 Man's role. 1 lynched after suspicion from a mod post.
I consider this a successful town victory!

Hey 2000th post and mutalisk!
It looks nice on you!

Knowing how you can win or lose the game is more important than knowing your role, how many mafia are in the game or how anything else works. Revealing some hidden win condition at a specific point of game may be fine, but it should be made known to every player in the game because, as this game makes apparent, if you happen to reveal it to players who choose not to share that information with the rest of town, everyone else is playing blind. That is not fun, and that is what every design decision should revolve around. Will this make my setup more or less fun?
|
ebwob Not that I'm saying that mods should change their writing because of HF's fake claim. HF slipped and got caught.

Yeah this game was balanced and fun, scum just fucked up.
It's never going to be smart to target an IC night one because of trackers and other splash roles.

You are correct about 774, I misquoted it. But you are still dying and therefore can not win the game. If you had not been shot, you would have won. Sorry.

I did not decide that the nature of a VT should remain a mystery. I clearly stated that everything you need to know is in the thread. I was implying that you should just go back to read the flipped VT role PMs to get your confirmation yourself. I did not choose to ignore this question based on what was going on in the game. We received several PMs with questions about other people's roles we declined to answer. It was just our rule to not share any role information outside of player's own role PM.
