did he sign up, make a single post, then never post for the entire rest of the game?
|
The only thing he posted in thread was "/in" and a "hello" in the mafia QT.

So, he was aware the game started, then decided not to play, or was unable to play. Be a good host and send him a PM and see what's going on. It sounds like he knew the game started, so maybe something came up in his life. His wife died, or he got fired, or whatever. If he just decided after signing up that he couldn't play, or that he wasn't interested, or there was a vacation he knew was coming and never told you about, yeah, there should be punishment. IMO we should find out if there were extenuating circumstances. PM him and see if he replies in the next few days, yes?

It does matter what people's circumstances are in general, however, he posted "Hello" in the mafia qt 2 days after the game had officially started. So, not only did he actually know the game was ongoing and decided to post nothing in the actual game thread but he failed to inform me if he actually did have circumstances that meant he could not post. I have also explicitly stated several times that the game required high activity. If he could not inform me otherwise that is flagrant disregard for my rules and the people he signed up with (especially the "hello"). He can feel free to PM me with an excuse and depending on it I may lower it to a warning but the fact that he posted in the QT means he was actually around anyway.

Right, I'm not saying he wasn't around, I'm saying, send the guy a PM and see what happened. If he just was busy or decided not to play, then this is 100% appropriate.

How does it work?In exchange for decreasing your ban count by one, you can contribute to the TL Mafia Library. First, post in here saying you are doing your service for your ban. Next, head over to the TL Mafia Library thread. For one ban, you will need write summaries for Three TL Mafia games which aren't currently in the library. The Mafia XV summary is the guideline for what we expect when you write a summary. Example: + Show Spoiler [Summary] +TL Mafia XV took place in October 2009 and was hosted by Ver and Qatol. It was an invite game with 21 players, 4 mafia, pms and no clues. The most significant set-up feature was the presence of detectives with 6 possible sanity variations. Day one included a mayor and pardoner election. The first day was comprised mostly of discussion of the set-up and how best to utilize the blue roles. Additionally, BC let loose his inner poet and Chezinu came to the shocking discovery that L + Ace = Lace. Several people put forth lackluster mayoral campaigns and pyrrhuloxia won by a tiebreak over Ace. As promised, pyrr chose to lynch motbob who was inactive for personal reasons. Ace responded by pardoning motbob and saving him from the lynch. The following day, Ace claims detective and outlines a plan to check the bodyguard's alignments. After town becomes suspicious of Ace's actions, he proceeds to call a bunch of people dumb and posts a monster wall of text. In response, town lynches Ace with a whopping four votes. In comparison, seven people decided to abstain from voting. At night, Dreamflower saves the day by taking a scummy judge with her to the grave using a well placed mad hatter bomb. At the start of Day 3, L claims to have been hit by mafia and medic protected. Additionally, he claims vet and to be in contact with his medic ally via PMs. In a close vote, Chezinu is lynched for being Chezinu and flips scum. A true tragedy for the Brown. Reduced to a single kp, mafia is now in a horrible position, which is made even worse after their only hit is blocked. + Show Spoiler [Night Hit PM] +From: L [ Profile | Buddy ] Subject: Self Bombing: Date: 10/31/09 10:08 I kill sugi, who is most likely medic protected and has a bomb on me.
Possibly the ballsiest move ever. Expected chance of victory:
0. On day 4, Midori claims dt, and bc is lynched as a sanity check. He flips bodyguard and a double lynch is passed for the following day. Scum come out with a minor victory by sniping medics on consecutive nights and avoiding the day 5 double lynch. However, things came crashing down on L on day 6 as his thread presence is not enough to save the scum godfather. The mafia team proceeds to concede with the mayor pyrr being revealed as the final scum. Overall, L and Pyrr played a solid game, but was unable to overcome the early hole, which led to the town victory. The easiest way to burn through bans that nobody really takes advantage of is just to write game summaries. They're technically part of the database thread instead of the library now, but I would assume the offer still stands. Plus, they're fun to read.

Maybe -1/4 for cohosting since that's generally only vote counts nowadays.
I would very much be in favour of something like this.
Happy birthday to Kita and Rayn, hope you two are enjoying yourselves <3

Confirming Sicklucker for sitout of Desert Center
|
A few things: 1. WonnaPlay had finished his sitout for Newbie Student Mafia XIII 2. Warning for Flexes for failing to vote and not posting in the Night Phase for activity requirement. 3. 1-2 Game Ban for MoosyDoosy for his poor behavior regarding himself and ruXxar and kept on asking me if people who got modkilled get the OBS QT and felt compromised about telling him if they do or not and decided not to answer him there.
|
I'd actually say a warning is fine for moosey the game was extremely tense and others were bring extremely hostile towards him. Being a newb game I feel its better for him to just get a warning and move on than have to sit out while he could be learning how to better play.
|
Having talked through with LS about the modkill, I think that between Moosy wanting to get himself modkilled (so people would believe his read and wouldn't have to lynch either him or n00bking) and threatening other players (or threatening to threaten other players) that a 1 game ban for MoosyDoosy is fair.
Like I'm not the most even keeled persona online, but it went even further than I expected it to.
