Also I belive it played it out well in the end because umasi heavily blamed me for it, and most of the other town thought nothing of it. | ||

As town your first goal isto prove your innocence so that other players listen to you and you remove a suspect in yourseff for other players to look into. That's actually one of the things i read when i started playing here besides Ver's analysis (the other sticky thread) and i decided i will never get mislynched as town. If everyone as town would never get mislynched there would be no room for scum to hide and due to process of elimination town would win every game. In this game Koshi replaced into bad situation and there was very little he could do. There was, what, some ~5 hours left in the phase? That's really hard spot to prove you are town or find mafia if you have not followed the game. | ||

Also all of you who were talking about being roleblocked you talk as if only scum can do the roleblocking? If there is a jailkeeper and he blocks a guy that has really said nothing the entire day 1 there is nothing you can discern from that surely as he has a 1/4 ish chance of hitting scum that night? If you were scum that got roleblocked the nightkill still goes through and there's nothing stopping you from saying that you got roleblocked in that case? | ||

I was mad as well and I only spent a little time on this game. Modkills were really silly because I think even after my lynch town was in a good spot if we had a vigi, cop and doc still alive. I am pretty confusing to play with. I was a bit too tunnelish on betreft, even though a part of my tunnel was played to gain reactions. I should have hammered more on the RB thing and grilled Umasi more because he couldn't answer me properly on one of the main events this game (LV vs betreft). Next time we catch them scummers together. I am pretty sure we will meet again :D. | ||

My advice is to find a playstyle that you enjoy playing with AND is efficient for you to WIN ALL GAMES. Do you enjoy making a few big posts a day where you spent hours working on but that very clearly represent your thought process? Please do that. If this is your way of playing the game and you feel like you are the most efficient playing this style then nobody should tell you to do otherwise. The best town people on TL play like that, they make sure town atmosphere is good and then hide a bit in the shadow, constantly point town in the right direction and then BAM they nail the scumteam or at least have done 80% of the work :D. I would love to be able to play like that but... For me that simply doesn't work well. I can't just look at filters and then make big post that is on the money. I need to play by some rules, ex. from this game: RB target is most likely town. Or by interaction, like Umasi not replying to me about a big event in the game (LV vs bereft). So I end up thinking around 5 secs on what I am going to post and then post it. I also am around 16 hours reading the thread so I can actively chat with my reads when they enter the thread. So I have a shitton of post that is seriously lacking content and logic. I realize that the way I play is confusing for a lot people, and Holyflare was shocked by it and thought I was scum. If I had 48 hours in this thread my confusing way off playing would have been seen as my playstyle and as long as that playstyle is consistent and clearly motivated by my posting I shouldn't get lynched easily as town. Previous 2 games people called me town 48 hours into the game, even though I was 100% wrong on my 3 reads on Day 1 and I once ended up lynching a cop... I just try to be as honest as possible and then it is up to others to decide that I am being deceiving them or I am just being honest and bad ;D. One day I might be honest and nailing scum. :D Just like this game. I was horrible wrong about bereft and killerdog, but I was in the right area about others. After my lynch people like killerdog knew who was scum apparently. Would that have been the same when myrz would have been unanimously lynched? In my short passage I like to think that if there wasn't a modkill on our vigi and and another townie that scum had to take a risk and showed themselves, so my reads were shitty, my play was confusing but in the end there was some result. Maybe that was 100% luck though :D. tldr: Find your own playstyle that works for you, others have to adapt to you. But remember that each game you have to go for a win. 100% go for the win in the game you are playing. Do it by being obvious town and trying to create (good and bad) content or do it by hiding more in the shadow and nail scum. It's up to you. | ||

But it is soooo time consuming... if I have to work during the week I barely have time to catch up on reading the thread not to mention posting something useful stuff so, like in this game, people tend to think I'm lurking because of that. Also if you read through new posts, do you make notes for yourself? | ||

It kinda makes it a 1/3 chance that the host writing the daypost actually gets your action XD i did try to use my save on n1, but was pretty tied up all day so pm'd on my phone and forgot that i needed to pm all 3 hosts ><; not that it would've made a difference since i picked umasi. would've been mad at myself if i'd wound up picking blurry and my save didn't go through. i didn't pick blurry because even though he and i were totally on the same page, i didn't think he'd be an obvious choice for nk because i found his posting nonthreatening (i even recall someone describing him as "gentle"? lol). also @koshi - admittedly i fucked up my day 2 vote, forgetting who you were replacing (megalolz). problem was that i also felt a last minute vote switch would stir up the dirt (considering how inactive the game was and mafia was probs on cruise control), not realizing that LV and myrzeth were both getting modkilled. basically didn't realize that if we lynched an active non-scum, this was effectively end game... felt like the equivalent of thinking i was on my 2nd last lap of a 5k, mustering energy for the last 400m sprint--and then discovering the race was over. haha. also i was surprised at how pissed you were yesterday. granted, there was a lot of reading you had to do to catch up on, but all the rest of us players had been invested since like..tuesday? while you were in the game for a grand total of 3 hours :p | ||
