I think bulletproof roles are easy because you can avoid death without having the stress of dealing with structuring your reads around teammates and you can basically scumhunt freely imo

YOU think its easy because YOU never get lynched.
if I had to describe his playstyle, it'd be a coked up rabbit with the attention of a goldfish injecting caffeine into himself directly through an IV drip. it's like a reel of random animated shorts where things just blow up randomly

Okay, thoughts: obviously it's going to be much better when you get more than one person in there...you did a pretty decent job of keeping on topic (presuming your topic was loosely "Musings After Fucking Off In LX") and that's paramount when you've got more than one person discussing the same topics.

What you need is myself or BH to argue with you. There was a lot of stuff I would have argued with you about in that thing.

Yeah, it'll be a lot easier to stay on topic with other people to talk when I run out of stuff to talk about and the divergent rambling stuff will be more fun as well. I'm just trying to get used to talking.

Yeah, that's important too. The sound is pretty good, i'm not sure if it's my netbook or what but it seemed to record a little loud - but yeah stuff like that can be fixed in post or whatever. The quality though is just fine.

It's actually a lot harder to stay on target when there's more than one person.

For instance, I would have audibly bitchslapped you if you'd said third party is easy and I was cohosting with you and it would have turned into a 30 minute argument revolving around theoretical game balance LOL

If it's structured well, I don't think that should be a problem in theory. It's a lot more interesting to hear 3-4 different takes on one issue in 20 minutes than it is to hear 1 guy repeat himself for 20 minutes and there are a lot of times where I feel like I'm grasping for another take on the thing I'm talking about and that's the perfect time for something to interject. I don't intend on just having this be casual skype conversations being recorded, but actually a very structured/formatted venture. It'll probably start out that way but once you get a group with a sense for eachothers pace and work out a way to avoid talking over each other/lingering on topics too long it'll be good.

A great example of the type of structure I'm thinking of is the basketball jones. Not nearly as rigid but just the way they flow from topic to topic is perfect. http://blogs.thescore.com/tbj/category/tbj-daily/

Other podcasts like Giant Bomb and Idle Thumbs (which are GREAT gaming podcasts) aren't quite that structured but they still have a system running that makes sure they cover everything they need to cover over 1-2 hours.

I listen to LowElo sometimes, they don't seem very structured in spite of having topics they want to discuss and segments designed to break up the podcast. I think for something like this, it should be a labor of love - something planned for and designed. That's what this recording kinda felt like because A) you were invested personally in LX and had insight to the game and B) LX had some stuff that easily illustrated some things that you talked about re: winning scum and town play.

And I think if the actual podcast follows the same kind of format it could be really entertaining, but the problem with that is time: not everyone is always going to be fresh out of a game that clearly illustrates points you wanted to discuss anyway.

Podcast concept sounds like a good 2-3man operation with up to 1-2 guests per show. (or more if you are preparing the show as a series of conjoined topics that you can record at different times). I like how Inside the Game (SC2 talk show) is set up, but that's just my personal preference. You can even take calls at the end if you do it live! LOL.

Despite your rambling you did keep on topic most of the time, I'm sure it'll be a lot easier with pre-planned minutes and I can easily see this being a pair of 40-60 minute segments. You don't sound weird, you sound passionate and if you pour that passion into this project it cannot fail!

Had a listen.

+1 to VE: Voice sounds fine + recording quality is more than decent.

Its funny hearing names pronounced COMPLETELY different e.g Geript (I get G-Ript).

But yeah, was fine; bit more structure and key topics and all set. Will be great with someone else to banter with.
