Radfield, what do you think about having the top five picks publicly claim their roles? It does open them to the BC role but at the same time we have absolute acountability and we have clear medic options. It would be pretty simple to organize the medics (i.e. if you're pick 5-8 you protect pick one, 9-11 you protect pick two). I'm worried atm that we'll get strong roles only to have them immidiately killed off. Think about it, if all three mafia teams shoot into the top, we could have just lost our inventor, jack, and town alligned assassin. Getting the top picks is great but we need some way to protect them otherwise it's pretty useless. If they claim it gives us two things. One, a clear oppertunity to organize medics. Two, if the mafia gets in the top spot it forces them to take the role assigned to them by the picking plan or risk being Ace'd. Having people claim is a good way to prevent the mafia from letting a role slide to a scumbuddy. This way, even if the mafia gets inventor or something similary powerful, we'll be able to kill them off without a problem. | ||

Think about it, the mayor's lynch is going to be closely scrutinized and every invention is going to be scrutinized as well. If the mayor/inventor is scum then they HAVE to do what the town wants in order to stay alive. And even if they're scum and they do whatever we want but get caught by a DT, it's not like the mayor is unlynchable :D | ||

Should we have picks 6 and 7 safety pick inventor and thief or some combination of the top five roles? That does create two potentially vanilla players but it puts a double safety on scum passing a role down. Even if a scum gets inventor, we can at least be more sure where to look if the people who safety picked turned up vanilla. | ||

Greetings fair Liquidia! I am running for mayor of our glorious town. You should vote for me because I have a proven track record for scum hunting (please see DrH’s experimental game as an example). I have been mayor once before and the town won (please see Annul’s Harry Potter mafia). I have also died the past several games I’ve played night one. What does me dying have to do with the mayor? Because I’m the motherfucking inventor and I’d like all the help I can get so I can actually benefit the town. Now unlike the other candidates I come to you with concrete examples of what I’d do as mayor. For my first lynch I will obviously lynch dropbear (who just claimed scum so this shouldn’t even be a discussion). However dropbear is too easy so for academic purposes I’ll tell you who my second lynch target would be, the unlucky winner there is hiro protagonist for useless posting and contributing without contributing. If you have any questions at all about what I’d do as mayor please feel free to ask. I’ll also tell you an invention idea I had, it’s called the scum motion detector and it gives me the identities of every red who moves at night. Brilliant if I may say so myself. However this can only be assured by your vote. All he has done is try to plant mistrust and passively push mafia agenda. His meta is far removed from his play in EHM where he was town. Yeah, I haven't pushed my reads too hard, that's a fair criticism. But there are at least three or four people who can vouch that I was going to go after bumatlarge today. Bum died and flipped town so understandably I've had to do some recalculations. The rest of this is poor. Of course I've played my hand tight, 40something percent of this game is mafia, I'd be a fool if I went around spouting shit off (like people have apparently been doing to you). My inventor claim was ill timed given my activity level but irl events outside of my control ruined that for me. As I said earlier, my scumreads got shot to shit after last night so I haven't had an oppertunity to really go after someone yet. No where have I planted mistrust of push a scum agenda unless you count me questioning Mig/syllo which isn't planting mistrust merely healthy sceptecism of an extrememly early day one declaration of townieness driven solely by some still unseen skype conversations. As I've already gone over, my meta isn't that far off from EHM. I ran for mayor to try and keep up the facade of being inventor and to draw attention to myself. My goal was to absorb as many hits as possible, or have the thief steal my role and then get outed by my body guards. Obviously, my own activity level hindered this and I was forced to withdraw under less than ideal circumstances. Yesterday I asked Jimbo what he had for me, he responded that he had failed to send in for an invention. Obviously this set off alarm bells. But at the time I figured that inventor was a really powerful role, everything seemed under control so I decided that I'd give Jimbo one more night before outing him to the thread. I claimed rb'd to keep up the whole "I'm the inventor" thing. Then things started to go wrong. Radfield somehow guessed at the switch. I asked Jimbo and Jimbo said it was because of my halfassed run at mayor. Radfield also knew who the inventor was which was fairly bad, that was what I'd been trying to protect all game. I started looking for leaks. At this point I should mention GreyMist and Sandroba who are my body guards. I talked with greymist and he seemed innocent, in fact greymist is one of the few people who I'm sure is town at the moment. So anyway I started looking for the leak. I had it narrowed down to sandroba or Jimbo. Given that Sandroba had dissapeared on skype I started to suspect him, plus I really couldn't think of reason (scum or town) for Jimbo to talk. Things started getting out of hand. Foolishness and Arcto both revealed they knew. This made me slightly suspicious of greymist because I'm pretty sure he's in a town circle with foolishness. I also began to get extremely suspicious of sandroba because I figured he/syllo/mig had buddied up with arcto. One thing remained consistent across everyone who told me they knew my role, they wouldn't tell me how they found it. This was really annoying. Mig contacted me last night, he too knew my role, I asked him about it and he wouldn't tell. This was pretty much the final confirmation in my mind that Sandroba was the leak. I was planning on trying to get him lynched today. Then I looked at the thread this morning and found rad had pulled dt check out of his ass so I decided to come clean with everything. Hey rad, you wanna know why no one role swapped me? Because the real scum talked. Today palmar told me that he had learned my role from Jimbo. Sandroba may be scum too, but it's obvious where the leak came from Jimbo is scum. He probably didn't even take inventor and was planning on holding out for as long as possible. Jimbo probably spread things around so that by the time the night started, half the town knew I was rs. Below are my PMs I've sent and received, I can't post IRC logs because I'm at school (those will come when I'm home).
