@vain: I thought about shooting kurumi, but that would have been a bad play as he was pretty much a confirmed townie in my eyes at some point and you could just not read anything from him if you did not want to.

Also it seemed like everyone knew I had a blue role, should I have posted more to appear more like a townie?

I meant at the start of the game. Day one, after that he seemed alot more town.

oh and about the blue thing. Most of the time a town player acting scummy is: bad town/mafia/blue role. Mafia knew that you weren't mafia so there were two options left. Don't be affraid to act a bit scummy/lay low once in a while while you are blue. Mafia won't hit scummish town as fast as good town analysts who lead the town to victory. Don't overdo it though, a living blue is a whole lot more worth than a dead blue

I utterly disagree. A blue player should play exactly as a townie. A single good analysis is worth ten times what a dt check is.

Furthermore, vocal players get medic protected, so they are *less* likely to be hit. Just see Bum's combat medic in XXXVIII, he replaced in as a medic and immediately launched into analysis, we didn't shoot him because we were dead set that he was a vet or a townie who would get medics.

This was in regards to his post where he guessed there were two medics, two dt, two vigis, and a vet.

I was talking more out of an medic perspective. For the other roles i agree and if there is done faulty analysis certainly speak up if you notice it.

Whoopsie

This is a text that I wrote but did not post, since I felt that it would benefit mafia more than town.

----------------------

Written as of 2011-06-11 11:51 Swedish time, 18:51 kst. (only small clarifications edited)

Let´s just assume for a second that xkcd is very competent.

This would mean that
a) He knew iGrok won the vote and therefore did not roleclaim (correct).
This is done under heavy pressure.
b) In this situation xkcd the detective kept his vote on jackal58
c) He was a detective, and did check someone up the first night

I have been thinking that jackal was the one to be checked the first night, and gave the result of jackal.

It worried me that it was presented as truth that xkcd "between the lines" did greenlight some people, and I did not buy into that. I trusted in xkcd and his DT skills, and that it was very much possible that the greenlighting was something engineered by mafia into a very sharp weapon. My gut feeling told me that something fishy was up with kurumi and gtrsrs, and had a bad feeling about gtrsrs greenlighting kurumi so much.

In retrospect this might have been a bad move since it can be messed up by
a)XKCD did not know what he was doing keeping his finger on jackal
b) The godfather immunity/framing
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What really made up my mind was the huge post (think it was by gtrsrs) that outlined why xkcd should be considered an idiot that kept his vote on jackal. My way of thinking was that this was Mafia acting and trying to discredit XKCD, partly to draw attention away from jackal.

If Jackal had flipped red, then it would have meant that the greenlighting of kurumi lost some of its merit, and a grand mafia scheme could have been uncovered.

Was my way of reasoning actually that retarded? Thinking XKCD was playing correctly and that Kurumi and Gtrsrs (which my gut feeling told me to suspect) was pushing the game in a very uncomfortable direction.

I did not feel too good the moment jackal flipped.

Sorry for that jackal...

EDIT: Yay edit button again. XKCD did not check kurumi the first night, was right about that at least :S

i don't think i was greenlighting kurumi too hard til amazingkxcd flipped and it was revealed that his "kurumi is 100% town" claim was backed by something. until then i was mostly saying "just try to ignore his kurumi-isms and play around him" imo.

also i feel like i came off as very pro-town in that game. i was scumhunting, i wasn't wishy-washy, i stuck to my guns, i offered to die in order to get my target lynched (which would be a really bad move for mafia or blue, obviously). i think it's weird you had a bad feeling about me

xkcd actually never checked Kurumi. His 100% town claim wasn't based on a dt check.

Eh, you WERE scum hunting pretty well but you weren't explaining yourself at all. Most notably, you jumped on iGrok day one - and your suspicions were right. But since you didn't really explain yourself, and the case wasn't obvious to us noobies, it looked like you were just tunnelling him, and you looked a bit scummy to a bunch of us.

What really bothers me is that xkcd pretended to have DT-checked Kurumi when he hadn't. Had xkcd been wrong and Kurumi actually been scum we would've been completely screwed.

yeah no doubt i could have explained myself better but my point was i didn't think ANYONE would get a scum vibe from me. in fact every night i assumed i was going to die because i was so pro-town and proactive

also wow i didn't realize amazingxkcd hadn't actually DT'd kurumi. major facepalm. i stand by my statements that he's a moron XD

Well that logic leads to WIFOM and it has been stated every game. Using that argument should always lead to suspicion. If you're green, it doesn't matter whether you think you'll live or die, it's whether you can assist town in winning the game. If you didn't mention that, I'd say you were probably town MVP. You make me proud! ;_;

Oh and I thought the attitude was appropriate. If you are sure you are on scum, you bite his neck like a bulldog and never let go. But the second you start to feel more of the opposite then of what you did before, let go. Being wishy-washy is ok if you dont make a point of it. Stalling and obvious indecision is not.

awwwww besties! :3

but my reasoning on my offering myself to the god of the noose was this:
i was tunneling iGrok like a crazed mole
he was deflecting everything
someone at some point was like "well one of them has to be mafia"
to which i agreed (very sure that iGrok was mafia not me obviously)
i was hoping that if i could get people to pick between him and me, that me flipping green would get him lynched. if they lynched him instead that would clear me

of course it's never that easy, thanks to bussing and bad leads, but i think in this game it would have worked

and i'm glad you approved of my bulldogging. i feel like when iGrok *stopped* posting haiku's at my request was when i knew i had him by the balls. if *i* then toned down my attitude at others requests, i was just as scummy as him, trying to save my own skin instead of playing for the greater good of the town

Actually, iGrok stopped posting haikus because the other mafia (Munk-E) told him to stop because it was stupid.

The haikus were awesome, get over yourselves.

And I'm fairly certain it went deeper then two people at each other's throats, one must be mafia. That is non-sense logic, and you ignore the better points.

I thought aprudds deserved best rookie, not only because he was the last mafia but because he seemed to have a good grasp on everything that was going on at any given point. He thought that initial accusation on freeloader, and it worked wonders for him. People suggested keeping an eye on him, but no one ever did anything. He caused confusion but for being the initial ripple he sure buried himself amidst the townies!

Of course I'm too lazy to actually read the entire thread. Maybe someone smarter then me would take a look into it. iGrok played well too, but I think gtrsrs really reading into his posts did not give him ideal GF conditions. He tried to seize thread control which a risk, and it backfired. Happens to all of us. Better luck next time.
