As my first and only act as major, I would random.org a player and they would be killed. /joke (had to since everyone is trying to run) To me, the only available choices for major are... bum and some random person from the item game. Personally, I would rather have bum in as our major... simply because well, a blue in a major already has 4 confirmed non-scum. As well, the blues can coordinate their powers. So if blues have two medics, they won't protect the same people... So we don't end up with a "medics from 1-10 protect X, medics from 11-20 protect Y, medics from 21-30 protect Z" which just isn't that great. But with bum he can go "medics protect X" and then the blue medics can protect Y and Z and we gurantee (as long as there is a green medic) that we spread out our protects... instead of having 3 medics in players 1-10 and ya... just how I think about it. Item game is good and all, I guess... but well, its only a mater of time until the people in the item game are dead... and we can always just use DTs on item game people first to kill the black and red in item game early... | ||

i just think 1. bum may or may not be blue; and 2. to take the mathematical chance to win six items worth much more than one blue. | ||

Basically this, mafia can't afford to take out too many townies in the item game cause then black or town will figure out who the red is and kill/lynch them, making the chances of the scum team getting the items 0%. Same thing for black players except they only have to fear lynches. Because of that, item players are relatively safe. Lets say black and red use all 3 KP to kill items players, that leaves 1 town, 1 black, and 1 red. 2 in 3 chance to lynch an anti-town and then 1/2 chance to protect the right person from night kill? Seems pretty good. But if bum isn't protected we've effectively lose a blue. | ||

Meaning until the 3rd part dies in item game, it will take at least 4 night phases for black to win item game. If we only have 1 DT, and the DT checks players in item game then... night 1: black kills someone in item game, DT checks someone in item game day 1: if DT found black, DT can reveal the black and get the black killed, if not, keeps mouth shut. night 2: black kills osmeone in item game, DT checks someone else in item game day 2: etc... until Black is found, if we have multiple DTs looking... then town wins item game. - - - - Basically: If we DT check item game -> town wins item game If mafia shoots into item game -> Black wins item game Mafia are more scared of black than town, therefore town wins item game... | ||

its strategic for the reds to not kill anybody in item game until the black player is dead. however, it's also strategic for the reds to not kill greens in item game once the black is dead (beyond 1 or 2 people in some situations). once its town + town + red, the red is not going to be killing towns (it forces the medic, which will make it smart for red to just go after non-IG players to get full use of KP). but if the black is alive, then this changes. both the red and the green want to kill the black in item game in the daytime ASAP. it is true once the black dies, all IG players are [relatively] safe. your scenario presumes a medic. why wouldnt medic be on bum tonight if a green IG mayor is elected? red is not going to hit IG players (its actually a net loss for them), only the black will be doing this. | ||

Annul I have an important question for you. This question is applicable to the game but more so to your judgement. I will give you two choices. You let me know which one you decide: A game of mafia has started The host asks you how you want the setup to go He says: Scenario A - One of the players will have 2 random bodyguards. This player will be confirmed town sided. This player will know 3 other people that are confirmed town-sided. This player will have role powers just like the other 3. This player will have a PM circle with the mentioned players. So one clear that knows for clear that all have powers and a PM circle. Oh - btw - this cleared player that knows 3 other clears... ya he can kill someone n1... Scenario B - You get to pick someone to be bodyguarded by 2 random people. At proper random levels this means there's a 33% chance this person will be mafia sided. Also this person will get to kill n1. Remember that lynches arent random so if this person is town they'll still probably hit a towny. But that's not important because here's your advantage - you have a CHANCE to get some really nifty items. I don't really want to tell you what the items do but there's some of them that may be ok.... So: Scenario A - bodyguarded clear knows 3 other clears whom he can chat with - has a kill n1 and has role powers Scenario B - You have a mayor that might be town sided with the ability to maybe get items later... How is this difficult... | ||
