u have no basis on which to assume that. it's very possible that redtooth was lying and nobody wanted to hit chezinu. don't jump to baseless conclusions ;(

you must not be reading the thread, and don't blame it on my spam. he said it in multiple posts... like 5 if you count his "don't worry about chez" posts from last night. 2 or 3 if you don't count those, and i'm talking about 2 or 3 where he literally said "i'm going to protect chezinu"
i'm interested in who the detectives rolechecked, and if any of them turned up green, maybe we can use that person to filter information.

It seems more likely that they picked up on incorrect accusations. I really doubt the mafia would ally this game.

Oh crap. I leave for home in a few, so I'll be back later.
If the mafia have teamed up to eliminate the town first, we're in deep shit.
On the other hand, I'm curious to know who was medic saved.
Oh yeah, and I notice a distinct lack of descriptive detail in this post compared to the first one. Kind of weird, but I think the clues really jut out at us this time. I'll take a closer look when I get home.

If someone was protected they should always call out that they took a hit.
In this case, that would be me.
I took a hit last night.

Well here's what I think from the kills in terms of possible clues:
Killer#1 noticed and followed the tracks Ace couldn't hide in the darkness killed by a gasoline/match ... fire again he wants to kill during the day as well as the night
killer#2 Sounds like he got killed by like shrapnel shot from a cannon or smthn ... dunno about this one yet
killer#3 sounds like the killer was on a roof shadow blocked out the light (with the stone sphinx) the stone sphinx itself
but he was actually killed by a pike with “We invite you to make a holy pilgrimage to the town square today to offer a human sacrifice to the gods. That is all.” written on it
killer#4 dry air and white particles ... sounds like he was poisoned via some powder
killer#5 cursing and shouting grafiti and the murder weapon was a pan
And yet again ... some of the clues fit me -_- I feel like Hobbes from last game.

I'm surprised the mafia didn't want to kill mystlord, 789, or bill murray...

Fellow townsman harken to me! I may be lying on my deathbed, breathing my last breathes of this bitter-sweet earthly air, but you must persevere onwards. The dirty red mafia still defile our sacred town, walking among us like wolves in sheep's clothing, do not give them your mind or ear! Join together and strike at this red menace, strike with a blow so hard and spine-shattering, that this evil ne'ar return to our humble village. The mafia have underestimated our courage and wisdom. This battle we may have lost, but the war is far from over, and the fight has just begun! So go my chosen people! Go and fight for our homeland! Use your rage, use your sorrow channel them, become a weapon of liquiville, fear not for I will be watching over you all...
(GL Town! and ace why did you have to be green....)

1. Why would you count abstaining as a "switch"? I only voted for DrH and RT, yet I have a 3x. 2. This post is completely void of content, yet is took some effort on your part (just not serious thinking about what and why you are going through the motions). Exactly the sort of thing that smacks of a bad attempt to "blend in" from a semi-active mafia member. Apparently not, I switched my vote from abstain and I'm not on the list. This is a very inconsistent list and someone should go through and try to make it official. However I think what needs to be paid attention to is the time's that people make their switch. If players are switching votes at key moments during the day (i.e. to put one player ahead of another) or if we see a random group of people all vote at once, this needs to be documented and taken note of. I really hope people read Ver's post about spamming the thread. And I hope people also read what I've said on this matter. Nobody Cares Syndrome is spreading fast throughout this mafia game, and it's only hurting the town. Although I suggest anything less than 5 lines of written text be ignored or forbidden. Heaven forbid we all have to read through 20 pages of posts every time we check on the thread. The fact that people are spamming is contributing to the fact that some people are inactive. There are definitely players in this game who are usually contributing or posting more than they are right now. What is probably the case, is that they don't want to read through a couple dozen of pages. This is bad because these people get thrown into the "inactives" and are now near the top of the suspects list. In reality, these people are just intimidated by the number of posts they have to read through, which contributes to the number of inactive people altogether. Separating these groups of people will ultimately help us find the mafia. Show nested quote +On February 16 2010 13:24 Iaaan wrote:

Again you single me out when there are plenty of other useless people. How about you, are your posts really useful? Your first paragraph address useless list. Your second one repeats what you have posted 2 or 3 times already in the thread, and your 3rd paragraph again just bashes useful points. Real nice contribution, a longer useless post. Maybe your not scum tho, you could just not like me. lol.
I'm going to hold up on other suspicions until Chezinu makes a post about his night actions. Although with that said, I lack faith in him making a real post.

I need to run to dinner and all.. and I'll return with some analysis, but this.. right here.. screams mafia.. the mafia side you're on was following you and made the mistakes because you were gungho about them being on the other mafia team?
Just an idea, I'm not all about thinking you're an idiot, just a misguided spammer ;P
Also.. just reading over clues... one looks like it points to me... so either I'm still being a bad clue analyzer (not like I was ever good at it) or.. ;_; Aren't clues supposed to be more discrete and point to a single person, not multiple all the time? Though, I admit, we all did get fooled by the Ace match didn't we.. and look where it got us..
I'll be sticking to behavioral analysis, though I was completely wrong about Zato-1. Maybe actually reading peoples posts (after that first few dozen pages of drivel) is a good idea!
On the other hand!!! Ver pointed out both Ace and BC as being Mafia didn't he? He could also be a mafia member, perhaps not on the same team as BM, and maybe there was a double hit on BC because of it? I mean.. he was hit from above AND below.
Just my immediate thoughts. And if you're so sick of my lists, Nikoner, I can stop posting them.. even though It was a major help last game I played when I was DT no I'm not one again).... and I had actually nailed most of the Mafia early on, just misguidedly changed them due to what the town was saying.

Time for Caller's shitty clue analysis:
When the three Mafiosi made it to the city gate, they each decided to go in their separate directions, moving swiftly towards the houses of their victims. The first Mafioso went straight for the town center. When he finally arrived at his victim’s house, he noticed that the door had been left wide open. Cautiously, he peeked in the window, noticing that a pot of soup was still cooking on the stove. A pencil and a few charts were also spread on the table, but the Mafioso could not notice that anything important or telling about the papers. Figuring that his victim had been alerted to his presence and had hidden all his important documents before hastily vanishing, the Mafioso tiptoed upstairs, careful not to make any noises that could alert his victim. Upon reaching the upstairs bedroom, the Mafioso noticed fresh tracks beneath the window, and jumped down, careful not to disturb the tracks. He raced through the forest, and soon found his robed target sitting by the lake. Ace felt no surprise as he turned around to greet the Mafioso. He was about to warn the Mafioso that he couldn’t hide in the darkness, when suddenly the Mafioso sprayed gasoline all over Ace and quickly lit a match. As he left the scene, Ace’s attacker muttered to himself, thinking how much fun it would be to terrorize the town not only in the darkness, but also in the light.
I think the most interesting things here are the fact that this is likely the same mafiaso that was really "bright" in the day 1 post. Since Empyrean was dead and green, this clue must point to somebody else. Now before anyone mentions it, I'm going to immediately say that if this clue points to Amber[Light], I'm going to cut myself.
Meanwhile, the second Mafioso made his way all the way across town to a small apartment on the edge of the city wall. Although the road to the residence was filled with many twists and turns, the Mafioso was able to reach the apartment without too much loss of time. The Mafioso knocked on the door, waiting for a response. Nervous, Zato-1 pulled out his shotgun, ready to shoot the intruder if he proved to be a menace. But Zato-1 could not have been more prepared for what happened next. As he opened the door, he was immediately knocked down and impaled by an array of sharp objects. The intruder was nowhere to be seen, although neighbors who have walked by the now open door have noticed a hole in the wall directly behind where Zato-1 had been killed. This intruder I would guess to be some kind of a ninja, considering that a) the mafiaso was able to get there quickly, killed Zato with sharp objects (shurikens, anyone?) and was nowhere to be seen, although there was a hole behind the door, which could have been something else.
The third Mafioso headed toward the construction site, where workers had been trying to rush build a new town jail. From the building above, the third Mafioso noticed his target working in the guard tower across the jail courtyard. Smiling to himself, he snuck around to near the tower and took control of a crane that he had hidden nearby. Only a few of the workers noticed the large shadow blocking out the bright artificial light necessary to light the construction site. A few yelled at the workers to get out of the way, and fortunately everyone did but one. BloodyC0bbler did not notice as a miniature version of a stone sphinx came crashing down on the site, demolishing the guard tower and spraying blue blood everywhere. I'm honestly a little bit confused about this clue. I'm guessing that the clue here is the miniature sphinx, but I have absolutely no idea whose profile this points to.
On the other side of town, things were no less gruesome. Contrary to the warnings of the new town leaders, Fulgrim decided to ignore safety and take a hike in the meadows nearby. But the air was dry, and Fulgrim began to sneeze. After blowing his nose and drinking some water, he decided that maybe it was time to go home. After all, it was very late at night, and he had to get up to go to work the next day. As Fulgrim headed back through the meadows, he began seeing white particles drifting through the air and began to sneeze more. Realizing that the particles were likely the cause of his recent sneezing, he decided to breathe into his sleeve and quickly get back home. But the damage had already been done. Fulgrim slowly began to feel lightheaded, and fainted as he stumbled on a tree root just feet away from the town perimeter. Unfortunately, he would never wake up again. This mafia appears to be killing with the white particles, of course. I would guess that the particles are anthrax or something like that, or it could be some kind of pollen or allergies?
d3_crescentia was getting ready for bed, when he heard some strange noises outside. It seemed at first that some bickering had broken out. When he walked outside, he heard some cursing, and shouting. Puzzled, d3_crescentia went to investigate. As it turns out, the man who was being yelled at had scrawled graffiti all over the man’s house. d3_crescentia attempted to intervene, but a cold menacing glare came over the duo’s faces. Before d3_crescentia could cry for help, a pan was flung into his face, knocking his teeth into his brain. d3_crescentia died soon after from internal bleeding in the brain. I would guess that this mafiaso isn't necessarily a team person or someone that has multiple people in their profile, but has more to deal with the pan that was flung into the face. What kind of person tends to throw pans, however, I do not know. I would say a woman but that's sexist.
Upon examination of BloodyC0bbler’s corpse the next morning, an autopsy found a strange sight, as it appeared that BloodyC0bbler had not died from the falling sphinx, but from a metal pike that protruded out of his stomach. The whole town was filled with shock and fear as the new mayor, redtooth, read out the inscription on the pike’s handle: “We invite you to make a holy pilgrimage to the town square today to offer a human sacrifice to the gods. That is all.” This is the most interesting part, I think. Why would BC's death be mentioned twice when none of the others are? The fact that there is a metal pike involved as opposed to the sphinx suggests that maybe BC was hit by both mafia. This would also likely account for the missing hit. As for whom the pike clue points too, I thought of Mystlord's profile picture, but I'm pretty sure that's a red herring as well. In any case, the best use of early round clues is to check back with dead mafia. I.e. if we find a dead mafia, we could hopefully track him to some of these clues to get an idea of Incognito's style.

Good. Just reminding everyone that this means one of three things:
a) Ver is town-aligned b) Ver is on Mafia X and took a hit from Mafia Y c) Ver is on Mafia X or Y who stacked hits on someone else now dead and are having Ver claim that he took a hit last night to gain admittance into townie circles.
Their likeliness or unlikeliness doesn't matter. They're all possibilities.
I'll help with the profiles in a moment.
