Wow, I'm really surprised there isn't an Olympic swimming thread... I was under the impression that it was one of the most exciting and most-watched sports in the Olympics...maybe everyone is scared of being banned since there are so many events to cover >.< GO SUN YANG! That guy is freaking awesome, first Chinese swimmer to get a gold in the Olympics, I think. If he could win the 200m too, I would be really happy. Obviously he is more of a long-distance swimmer, so if he could win all of his events, I would be super happy for him ^^

However, the french girl in the lead scored a meager 8.0 in the last shot and the chinese won! amazing composure from Guo, considering how she blew her 1 point lead from qualifiers with an 8.0 opener! Saving the best for last indeed @_@ That was super tense to watch.

Yeah, and when she finally was able to pull through on that last shot, I was so happy. ^^ The silver medalist was a really good sport about it for sure though. Overall I was just like HECK YEAH on that last shot when she came back right at the end :D

The tennis in particular sounds like it's been handle appallingly (don't know why they didn't just hire the AELTC to do it given that's what they do every year). Hope they can get it sorted fast

Japan EBINUMA Masashi vs Republic of Korea CHO Jun-Ho After 8 minutes of match, the judges decide the outcome if neither side had gained the upper hand by points. While it was clear that the Japanese was better, the three judges declared the South Korean as winner (which while I dont agree with, I'd respect the decision). But after they noticed the crowd's negative reaction to that decision the referee decided to award the Japanese as the winner. Of course the Japanese didnt deserve to go out as the better fighter, but it was already decided. The poor South Korean. As much as a gold medal would make me happy now I just can't feel the medal to be deserved ![]()

that was such bullshit they decided that Cho won, then revoke it jsut because the crowd fucking boo'd, and declare Ebinuma the winner? That was so fucking retarded.
