I see the need to a more secure and terror-free event, but maybe there is a way to do it without obstructing on basic human freedom and the need for humane space. I don't know.
Well the problem is that London IS very exposed to terrorist attacks. When i see overextended security measures in Moscow i feel annoyed but then i remember all those explosions and i start feeling thankful. I'd better be annoyed and somewhat violated than dead or wounded.

Wow i watched the VOD of italy vs USA in archery and it was so close.. dayum

Great opening ceremony. I actually liked the sort of strangeness and seemingly illogical themes presented. It took a different direction than Beijing and was more similar to Canada's winter olympic ceremony with the more personal feel specific to the country hosting.
He liked children's literature and Britain's health care system so he just made it part of the show. Digital age musical? Sure, why not.

So instead of getting excited and posting about that match I decided I must watch the medal match. My heart sank when he hit that 10.

Any chance that china is not going to win the most golds again? Because they are looking real strong this time a well.

They will, and it's not gonna be close this time. USA will still take the overall combined medal count though imo.
Also, fuck yeah, we (NZ) just beat Australia 1-0 in women's hockey. That's a pretty big win to start the tournament.

Yeah it's impressive for China but when most of these are professionals (whereas it's not the case in most european countries) it's simply logical.

In shooting the chinese world champion was in the ropes before last shot, being behind 0.5. However, the french girl in the lead scored a meager 8.0 in the last shot and the chinese won!

You didn't enjoy yesterdays Benjef?
I always like the little breakaways getting away and someone making a break for the line more than the big bunch sprint tbh.

Really enjoyed watching it just felt the actual end was so anti climatic, with the two not really even sprinting to finish. He looked behind himself with 1km to go and the guy just sprant ahead and the other guy was like oh ah well I'll keep the same pace and come 2nd....
I think I prefer the big bunch sprints...
