I'll have to check the schedule from now on and find the best way to stream stuff. I feel super sad now because I've been stuck watching Americans destroy other people in beach volleyball instead of all the other cool stuff you get to see at the Olympics.

I think it works for Americans. Really easy to switch between live events as well as pause and watch VODs.

Oh wow, I could see a couple of days or maybe even weeks but they waited years to tell her? I think she would've been over it by the time the olympics came around and only would have taken a small hiccup in her training...

Seems like a really personal thing though and i think the family should hopefully be able to sort it out on their own. Is wu minxia doing any indiv diving events? Been a big fan of hers for a while.

Expect countries like GB, Germany, Aus, Russia, USA to really pick it up in the 2nd half. China still has half of diving all of badminton and half of table tennis to go not to mention their synchro swimming. It is going to be VERY close this time.

If you compare them to third world nations, then they are impressive. South Korea's population is less than the UK but it's higher than Canada's and Australia's. Australia is doing a very good job relative to its population, too. Both Koreas seem to take the Olympics more seriously than most other nations, too. Now, if you want to talk about underachievers relative to population, India, Pakistan and Indonesia are going to be at the top of the list. Actually we're doing awfully compared to normal :p it's being dubbed " the Silver games" over here.

Silly rules if you ask me, especially when u can openly admit to "crashing on purpose" as he did rofl. Oh well, guess it's a little better after the GB girls got DQ'd

However if you saw the Polish team i think it was, they were cycling and the guy lost his footing in his pedal and stopped and they were labelled "DNF" Silly rules if you ask me, especially when u can openly admit to "crashing on purpose" as he did rofl. Oh well, guess it's a little better after the GB girls got DQ'd They should have been DQ'ed too. But I guess the uproar would have been too much. What's more curious to me is that this Sprint team didn't have any results these last 4 years. They were DQ'ed in the last WC. Very curious that nobody in this pro team seems to know the rules, isn't it.

If anything they are probably not very happy about including golf, but since sponsors are the main interest, they have had to accept it. Chess and Bridge were in around the olympics at some points and Chess is a recognised sport, with IOC membership, so if the priorities change in IOC, chess has a potential.

Considering China fell short in total medal count in Beijing despite home country advantage I'd say the USA should take it again this time around (and for the forseeable future). Most gold medals, on the other hand, will be very close and imo China will edge out the USA, although by a smaller margin than 2008.

Very curious that nobody in this pro team seems to know the rules, isn't it. Think it's more of a loop hole though. Like Cavendish was saying, you ride on the track and still be egilable to ride on the road, but you can't ride on the road and try and ride on the track...so he was never able to ride track to try and get more olympic gold. Yeah they were DQ'd for the same thing as the girls in the WC, the German front runner has only just started racing with team GB though so he wasn't at fault. To say they don't know the rules is slightly stupid no? Of course they know the rules it's there lively hood, its what they have done all their life. Like Cavendish said on the BBC, it's like the line for offside in football, if you cross it by a 1mm margin it's still offside, thats the same in cycling, if you miss the changover by 1mm your still at fault. Can't say there cheaters on basis of both teams now failing at major comps men @ wc and women @ olympics, think it's just unlucky. Look at chinese women, they had the worst heart break ever, told their olympic champions and then stripped of it and given silver because of the same thing.
