Galio doesn't make any sense at all in this comp, for some real talk. Their opponents comp is also mostly AD which is kind of not Galio's strong suit.

picking no cc, and no escapes on adc against akali, you're gunna have a bad time.

I'd bet a nickel on that if Kayle/Zil ults would've saved people from Akali assassinations, people would go "omg, picking Akali vs a team with Kayle and Zil, just bad!". Those ults well used in a close game could totally shut down an Akali.

SSW had no need to commit though, if you look at their comp it's actually a disengage + poke comp. They could have just as easily baited out kayle and zil ulti with just pawn. especially with lack of sustain from SSB.

that's the first time I've heard a Rengar+Akali combo called a poke comp

the only poke champion on White is Jayce, who can double as a midgame assassin with his EQRQE combo. Janna has a strong disengage sure, but Janna was used more as teamfight disruption than actual disengage.

That's why I call it a poke comp, not a siege comp.

SSW getting all the picks they want I feel, but SSB does have Janna + Ryze.

Having ONE champion who can poke does not make your comp a poke comp, especially when 3 of your champions can't poke, but actually hard engage by nature of their kits and playstyles. Rengar is all-in engage. Akali is also all-in. Twitch can be pretty all-in.

Jayce is nothing like pre-rework Nid who is a poke comp all by herself.

One poke championdoesn't make your comp a poke comp.

nidalee pre-rework.

also, it's not a pure poke comp, it's more of a disengage + skirmish comp.

Akali did basically get shut down the entire game. The final stats was Akali just being a beneficiary of White being vastly superior this game, mostly due to Mata and Dandy's facilitating and rotations. Definitely a case of riding the coattails rather then dictating play.

Did not expect Blue to get stomped this hard in game 1. I think they had an ok'ish comp, but the Zilean and Kayle ults were never once utilized well and those were integral to their success.

Looper allows Samsung Galaxy White to play the way they do. It's a lot harder to be the one left out, but still find ways of being helpful, than to force your teammates to make you look good. Like JoyLuck once said, when Looper plays conservatively, it's not because he thinks he is inferior to the opposing laner, it's because it's the right thing to do in that situation. Seriously, it's been bugging me a while how Montecristo shapes the opinions in some cases, because as smart as he is, his opinions aren't always in sync with those who have more experience and knowledge about the Korean scene. Looper is a major reason why Samsung Galaxy White is such a scary team.

How would SSW benefit from Looper not fucking up the opposing laner if he is better and could do so?

Not needing the team to invest unnecessary resources is the reason why Looper is so good. If you're asking why Looper isn't good enough to smash the opposing laner without support, there's not a single player out there capable of doing that. Looper just happens to be smart enough to not die for a couple of extra CS like I've seen with a bunch of top laners in this tournament.
