Well apparently he randomly predicted KTA to beat Blaze yesterday, and I was super scared cause I thought that's the most retarded prediction ever since this was by far the most clear cut quarterfinal game in my mind, with Blaze the clear favorites.

Normally I'd just say Monte is trash he doesn't know anything but then he got the score right in SKT Ozone exactly and I was like OH SHIT MAYBE HE KNOWS SOMETHING.

Dunno, he seemed to play better in game 4. Granted, Hachani's feeding helped that, along with the fact that he played Caitlyn in a comp with Lulu and Nami and against Shyvana as the only diver.

Montecristo has a very linear way of thinking about the game. His knowledge about the game other than map movements and objective control is kinda poor. That's why when a game gets played out in disarray, he really has nothing to offer because he can't comment on why things happened the way they did. He'll always default to saying "X team should have gone for tower B" by default. The play by play analysis is poor when you compare it to the ex-pro players casting in NA and EU (Jatt, Kobe, Deficio). Those guys provide a much clearer analysis on why players misplayed in certain teamfights, why certain teams prevailed in certain teamfights, whereas Monte and DoA lack in that department.

I don't hate Monte and I'd prefer to listen to him over almost any other English caster, even though I don't always agree with the way he thinks about the game. This is hardly a major complaint, but his version of League is far too "sanitized." I mean it's to be expected I guess if your job is covering OGN and top Korean teams, but oftentimes it's not that enlightening to say "well they should've just played that perfectly and rotated and took every objective," ya know?

More annoying to me personally is I think he makes some very silly predictions at times. Lately, he has often been quick to try to start a bandwagon either for a random underdog or against a popular team in an attempt to look hipster-informed/just for the sake of being a contrarian. KTB at IEM/KTB is not a top 8 team is one of those times for example, and because he's generally well respected as an informed source, it leads to a lot of people blindly parroting what he says even though Monte himself might not even sincerely believe it.

Ssumday looks kind of shaky top but is serviceable, but Rookie does have the potential to be a good player mid as he for the most part was keeping Ambition in check mid. Kakao is always good, and Hachani if he can limit the amount of times he gets caught is mechanically a great support. Arrow played like ass every game, even when they stomped Game 2.
