Huh? OMG is arguably the best team from the second best region, they proved they can get international results, and I'd just like too see them win against a good Korean team and I think it's much more plausible than, say, hoping for TSM, C9, Gambit or Alliance to do it.

Also I can't find what final they lost 3:0. LPL summer they lost 2:3, Season Finals they beat Royal 2:1 in Winner's Finals and then lost to them 1:3 in Grand Finals. They are still 7-1-0 in LPL Spring, I'm willing to bet that the gap between them and current T1K can't be that big.

i don't know where the OMG hype comes from. the chinese teams have not made any effort to upgrade their analyst/coaching infrastructure and is still pretty amateurish in cmoparison to korea's ever accelerating metagame evolution. OMG's dominance in china is also assisted by the fact that they are most receptive and good at learning korean strats.

they are kind of china's c9

I've been thinking for a while that this might be the most competitive season of Champions we've ever seen, and now that SKT K is effectively out, the competition is blown wide open. I don't think there is a clear favourite among KT A, KT B, SKT S, Blaze, Ozone, Blue, Sword and Shield (of course not all of those teams can make it out of groups). Some of those teams might be stronger than the others, but I think any of those teams are capable of beating any of the other teams on their day. Even teams like IM#2 and Frost, while looking a bit weaker right now, are still capable of doing damage.

I think bringing Mandu back was a big mistake on SKT's part. I'm not saying he was the reason for their loss, but it was an unnecessary disruption, and I feel like it would have sent the message that SKT had some sort of problem that needed 'fixing', which would have undermined the coaches' confidence in the team.

Not sure if it's more competitive than pre-T1K dominance, but I'm definitely stoked for the top8, since the teams seem to be on similar skill level and we might see how different tactics and approaches work against each other.

Apparently Mandu didnt even expect to play....he was streaming WoW until 3am and said he was going out for food with Mata and then go watch the games together....then Casper suddenly couldnt play and SKT's coach saw Mandu there and just dragged him in....
To put it in perspective, Mandu hasnt been playing League seriously anytime before the games, if any at all. Hes been streaming a lot of WoW and Lineage with the occasional troll league game (soraka top..kayle jungle etc)

source? that's so troll though if that cost them the season. I guess Casper had personal reasons then and didn't get benched just for the sake of trying mandu again?

Finished watching the SKT K and KT A games, still amazing. KT A didn't just win, they dismantled SKT K. If they had gotten behind in either game it would have been way different, but they just played with reckless abandon and it payed off. KaKao seems like a genius for moving from Bullets to Arrows lol.

lol that story is fantastic if true, but only if they won.

good thing is that there will be less bandwagon fans.

Nah, you'll see apologists due to Mandu being rusty.

that is a valid excuse but most bandwagon fans would be jumping off instead of defending the T1 throne to the death

All Stars gonna be like IEM Katowice hehehe
KTB swaps in Insec for his first tournament (Not including masters) in 8 months, look really weak, then sweep 7-0
SKT K just swapped in Mandu after a needed break, got *effectively* knocked out by KTA, looked really weak, and now they just need to sweep All-stars 9-0 for that repeat.

If this happens then at least for the beginning of 2014 we can say Korea dominates top to bottom

I have a question, CJ Entus has blocked the videos on epicskillshot for all the korean games. Where would i go to find VODs of the OGN games? I've tried searching on TL, but all I got was a closed post that was purely in Chinese. THanks!

You aren't supposed to.

There is a chinese youtube like thing where you used to be able to find game though. I haven't checked since the rebroadcasts started. I think it was called youku?

Ro8 draw will be probably key.
Because Ozone can hit NJBS and one of favourites will be eliminated instantly for example.

If Frost can fix their transition from mid to late game problems, i don't see why they can't make at least Ro4, they're totally capable of beating anyone in this tournament.
Ozone are probably main favourites after SKT elimination, KT A, Blaze and NJBS are somewhere near but NJBS can still fail in groupstages again.

Isn't it easier to pay less than you pay for random tickets in DotA 2 just to get VODs? :D
