Alliance already lacked the damage to kill anything. Downgrading (damage-wise) from Irelia to Mundo would've been worse. However, I do think a Shyvana or Malphite wouldve been much better. Shyv+Ori/Lulu combo is sick engage. Malphite would've solved their engage problems too. I didn't see the whole game, but by the time I tuned in ~25 minutes in, the game was already over. SK was running a team comp which if they got ahead, it's absolutely suffocating and near-impossible for the other team to come back unless SK fucks up. On the flip side, if SK's comp got behind, they'd get wrecked.

Alliance needed picks in order to get objectives, SK:s comp was built around preventing picks while poking Alliance down.

It's not about having Irelia 1v5, it's more about snowballing the game. Aatrox is shit when behind. SK's entire comp falls apart the moment they fall behind by more than 10~15%. The heal/revive composition only works if your champions can actually get the HP to survive the initial burst+the AP to heal it back up - that requires your team to not be behind. If Aatrox was squishier, he'd just get popped instantly, then revives with 20% hp and gets insta-popped again. Instead. SK got ahead, Aatrox got tanky, so he can yolo in, die after taking a ton of focus, then res at virtually full hp due to Nid/Kayle heals. Which was possible only because of SK's ability to secure a strong early lead with objective control. We've seen similar comps in the past. They work because you get a lead or at least stay very even. If you fall behind you're fucked harder than if you pick a more standard composition.

It would've helped the split push strat of having Irelia with TP. In the midgame Alliance was responding to SK pushes and dragons by splitting Tabzz and Wickd to take towers or pressure them to stop pushes. If Irelia has a few more kills she would've merited an even larger response from SK. EDIT: What Ryuu said too - they also can't send an Aatrox who's behind to deal with a fed Irelia.

If Froggen hadn't whiffed his ult, [A] would have rolled 5v0 like i predicted, get inhibitor and this game could be same to yesterday's against Fnatic. But Froggen whiffed, SK rolled 5v0 and game was over after it. Nothing bad, i'm satisfied with growing Alliance. They will be real contenders in Summer and probably even in Spring Playoffs.

Alliance is definitely looking much stronger than they did at the beginning. They're still terrible at playing from behind though.

At that point the game was even, but one of the tools in their arsenal was basically useless. How threatening can a splitpush really be if you cannot 1v1 your lane opponent? Their biggest problem is that for some reason I cannot really understand they have 0 direction in the midgame. They were posturing around the first dragon successfully and got a mid turret, but then without any rhyme or reason tabbs moved botlane to farm 6 minions and SK got a dragon they rightfully never should have gotten (at that point before aatrox was tanky and before Nid had any items the A combo should have been far stronger). I really cannot understand that call specifically. You have a teamfight oriented wombo combo, why would you back out of the only possible teamfight. After they bungled the 2nd Dragon (that was the teamfight where they had 0 focus, and instead spent their time trying to kill an Aatrox with bloodwell and kayle intervention to keep him alive) the game was basically over, but they seemed to have 0 plan on what they actually want to do even before that point.

They didn't have to respond to Irelia. She can't push as fast as toplaners like Shyvana and while she is pushing, SK can force everything on the other side of the map forcing Wickd to use teleport. When you have comps like in this game, Alliance had to dive with Shook+Nyph and get Nrated instantly. It wasn't possible because of Nidalee, who is probably best disengager in whole game and Aatrox who acted like a brick wall between Shook and Nyph and actual dps of [A]. So even if Alliance tried to run 1-3-1, Sivir could be chased by Evelynn forever, Aatrox could just hold his ground even if behind because Irelia can't dive him alone and smash when he has randuins and Lucian-Kayle-Nidlaee > Orianna-Wukong-Lulu in holding.

Not terrible, they just seem clueless sometimes. I dunno who's making calls for Alliance but he needs to get 100g of vodka before game just for courage.

On the other side, candy did really good splitpushing in the right moments, kayle support OP, jesiz shy nida but the char is broken, freddy lost lane at last but came back due to his team pressuring, 2 damage items eve ->full tank OP, happy to see them use tank eve that i introduced long ago.

In comparison to what was happening in the beginning of the season, those rotations were 11/10. Endless props to Nrated for pulling tricks from sleeve, still, neo-SK can fall back next week already. EU LCS is too heavy. Overpow is going to farm whole game again? Ez for SHC. First game for Vander on Annie btw.
