Thank God i hope it won't be like replays or Magma Chamber. #neverforget S1, S2 and S3 finals all had huge fuckups in terms of tournament format/running so I don't exactly trust Riot to not fuck it up. How was S3 a huge fuck up in that regard? Tsm get the most difficult group, c9 no warm-ups Well actually SKT not being first was a problem with how the Korean league is. So many people talk about how good it is, but really it meant that the strongest team wasn't considered "first place" because results from 6+ months prior were still relevant with their system. If that wasn't the case, then SKT wouldn't have been in groups. As for C9 not getting warm ups, I didn't hear about that, but that's pretty shitty.
The big problems I had with the S3 WC format is:
- Regional Bye to Ro8, I get that it's the "reward" for placing 1st in the region but it meant that those teams potentially play one Bo3 and get eliminated (see C9 and Gama Bears) - Random selection of Ro8 opponents, this lead to the China vs China match which was basically a replay of the recent Chinese Regional final (but with less games) - Basing any of it on All-Star, while a fun tournament having any WC decisions based on All-Star tournament feels stupid (especially when Europe has team with 3 different languages and some non-english speakers) - Controversial one (and not to start a LoL vs DotA debate) but the lack of a loser bracket, while I loved the production of S3 there was just very little storyline to the games (outside of Group B's close end) when compared to TI3's loser bracket games, this may just be that the skill level in DotA is closer than in LoL but so many teams getting eliminated before the bracket stage and then the lackluster Ro8 made alot of the games pretty boring. Also, hopefully it would have given us a more interesting final match (NJBS from their Semi performance would have put up a better fight that Royal Club).

The whole bye/group system was flawed. C9 played a single bo3 while mediocre teams like Mineski played a shit ton of games in group stages.

TSM wasn't getting out of either group and saying C9 had no warm up because they got seeded is pretty lol Idk, I'd give TSM a pretty decent chance to get out of that group. Vulcun almost got out, and Gambit/Ozone played really poorly at Worlds. I know TSM fans are delusional, but this is new level. lol. im not even sure if TSM as it is now which is 100folds stronger than TSM with regi last season could win a group with Gambit/Fnatic. The old TSM team had 0 chance of making it out against Fnatic/Gambit. Considering how Fnatic has been playing these last couple weeks it's not that unlikely. Edit: Oh I see what you meant nvm Gambit and fnatic are overrated. People always say gambit are the korean killers, bootcamp, etc. When's the last time they won a tournament? Fnatic lost to C9 legitimately and excuses can't be made about that series. Fnatic were practicing, they just sucked when Kassadin gets banned out. When was the last time they won a tournament? Well the last time there were any tournamnets outside LCS. Lol.

They weren't playing close to their usual standards (which with Edward is definitely higher than TSM).

"When's the last time they won a tournament that mattered?"
When is the last time any team won a tournament that mattered, other than SKT? It seems like most people think Worlds is all that matters anyway, but even if you consider pretty much the only other two recent tournaments there is EU LCS Summer and Spring, one of which they won...
So I don't know what you expect. And Fnatic won the other one who you are calling overrated. How much more do you expect from those teams? Honestly, I am curious.

How many times did Gambit lose to NA team? Oh wait, it's same number to TSM's wins against Koreans. IEM Cologne is their last win, and oh wait, what happened to C9 there... And you're acting like C9 won not because of Kassadin :D
Anyway, it's not right thread to speak about NA/EU fights. If S4 Worlds will have double elimination with all teams advancing from brackets - it will be ideal. But let's just wait for it.
