Yeah All-stars is a surrogate for real international competition, to make us shut up about it. Which is why I am annoyed by all the hype around it.

We had BotA at the start, Worlds at the end, and small things like IEM. I don't understand why people think it is so wrong that fans like me get to enjoy a "fun" tournament. I enjoy the unique aspect to it. I do wish Riot would also encourage teams to go to events like IEM though in the many ways they could.

AllStars are okay.
But not when they give fucking spot at Worlds just for lulz.

They could give it to Korea anyway and all could be okay with it.
But giving enormously important spot for region just because of "mix" who adapted to each other faster than other?
It's kinda weird to say the least.

Well I was responding to it being a "surrogate for real international competition".

I can't say I really care too much about the reward though. It's really just the one team that doesn't do well doesn't get a top 8 placement, right? It just means that for whichever region does worst, the best team from that region has to make it out of groups. Meh.

Riot said that this shit with bye rounds won't happen again.
Thank God i hope it won't be like replays or Magma Chamber.
#neverforget

S1, S2 and S3 finals all had huge fuckups in terms of tournament format/running so I don't exactly trust Riot to not fuck it up.

How was S3 a huge fuck up in that regard?

Tsm get the most difficult group, c9 no warm-ups

Let's be fair here. TSM wasn't getting out of either group and saying C9 had no warm up because they got seeded is pretty lol

Idk, I'd give TSM a pretty decent chance to get out of that group. Vulcun almost got out, and Gambit/Ozone played really poorly at Worlds.

I know TSM fans are delusional, but this is new level.

I know that it's about other thing but.
For example Riot after 4 years still don't know how to reward teams properly.
Compare how SKT T1 was given their trophey after last OGN and that absolutely bald and awkward S3 Worlds finish.

Meanwhile, Volibear is another champion who fall from his 100% winrate throne this season it seems.

Because at the end of the day Riot isn't trying to promote esports/tournament as much as their product.

At the end of the day, Riot are acting like they're biggest esports discipline still.
Have to stay classy if they position themselves like it.

im not even sure if TSM as it is now which is 100folds stronger than TSM with regi last season could win a group with Gambit/Fnatic.
The old TSM team had 0 chance of making it out against Fnatic/Gambit.

Considering how Fnatic has been playing these last couple weeks it's not that unlikely.

Edit: Oh I see what you meant nvm

I dont get why EG conceded that baron. I think they could have easily fought 4v4 with Jax away and Kayle with EG.

Jax would've taken tower vs Shyv. They wanted time to let tower regen so they conceded the dragon whilst getting the kill on Jax.

Gambit and fnatic are overrated. People always say gambit are the korean killers, bootcamp, etc. When's the last time they won a tournament that mattered? Fnatic lost to C9 legitimately and excuses can't be made about that series. Fnatic were practicing, they just sucked when Kassadin gets banned out.
