I think having a 3rd place match would solve most of the problems. It's very likely the top 4 teams in these high caliber international tourneys have at least a hometown or fan favourite team.
3rd place match will :-
1) eliminate some of the performances/shows/talks that might kill the mood
2) at least guarantee enough matches to be worth for the paying crowd
3) bring extra hype to the finals I guess.
SKT played amazing and was my pick (along with fnatic) but even I found the finals slightly anti-climatic from a spectator point of view. I hope next year there will be at least a third place match. GG!
Or maybe don't wait 1 extra week to play the finals... =D have the finals the next day lololol.

TI2 > TI3 didn't have any marked improvements. Interviews with the players were severely lacking. oh okay, if we're talking solely about production sure. but there were a lot better things that happened at ti3, like, you know, the games. don't want to talk for other people here, but I think it's undeniable that TI3 finals were wayyy better than LoL Championship finals.
Gee I wonder why... The Navi versus Alliance final was pretty hype man and it went the distance.

They botched a lot more than that. In either case there are always improvements to be made by every tournament but they all seem to have the ending ceremonies on that list.
