Two things as public notice: 1. + Show Spoiler [Quarterfinals 1 spoiler] +Congrats to Fnatic, they played superbly and glgl to them in the Semis! No one is saying that Fnatic only won because of the level 1 in Game 3. Please keep the nationalistic statements out of our subforum. 2. Riot's Worlds format is atrocious. Let's not beat a dead horse here. I will certainly be talking to Riot's eSports dept about it in the near future. I simply ask everyone to be civil. Humble in victory, graceful in defeat. Enjoy the games~ -Neo, Sept 23rd, 3:20 PM PDT, page 120 |

OMG vs RC was quite possibly better than any of the group stage matches. SKT vs Bears .... well, quite possibly the worst games.

OMG vs. Royal Club were probably the best games of the tournament.
Only watch SKT vs. Bears if you want some Piglet and Faker porn.

I'll watch the OMG vs. Royal Club games tonight or tomorrow then.
Nothing wrong with Faker/Piglet porn, but I want to see high level plays on both sides, not just two pros (if not top 1 of their role) face-stomp another team.

hilarious how aatrox from being "bad" becomes pick/ban in almost every game, is there anyone else claiming koreans dont follow other regions in meta ?

uzi's cleanses are so fast he didn't walk a single step towards ahri after getting charmed

I think they banned it mostly out of not knowing how to counter it, where-as the majority of the other champs they know how to counter/deal with.

Rewatching the games on the OGN vod right now... Oh man it's just a whole other experience. The way their observer switches between the team's visions to tell the story of the game is just SO GOOD.

Loved watching brood war streams back in the day anyway, even without english casting.

the obs has been severely lacking for riot indeed, someone should slap clakeyD and lykaeus on the wrists and force them to watch some ogn vods to learn how to spectate, unreal how many kills they missed this tournament so far.
|
Ah I don't think that they're doing a bad job, it's just that the OGN spectator is exceptional. To me it's not really about him doing something better than Riot's guys (he also misses kills), but rather that he uses concepts that the Riot observers don't seem to use at all. I wouldn't be surprised if he treats his spectating more like a craft that you consistently work and improve on, while others might see it more as a job that you do properly and to the best of your ability while you're at work, but probably not something you would practice and analyse in your free time. Just random assumptions, though.
|
no, the observing has definitely been poor, it's one thing to miss kills, but there have been times where i'm asking myself if they even have a minimap.
|
Okay that's very subjective, of course. I found it to be sufficient and it met the expectations that I had for the NA observer.

catching up on these threads makes for a hilarious read
looking forward to semis, cant tell whos going to win

Somehow I feel like my enjoyment of the games was enhanced by the commentators not mentioning "rotations" at all. Funny how one gets sick of a term so fast.

Interesting. Tabe also gave an interview for the OGN broadcast and said that at first he was very depressed when he drew OMG as their opponent. However, they scrimmed a lot with SKT in preparation for this match and afterwards he was extremely happy that he didn't draw SKT instead, because they are just completely destroying them.

It's sounding like the SKT train is the only hype train that will not get derailed. I would really love an upset though. I mean, you can sort of say that Royal winning against OMG is an upset, but not really. Fnatic beating Royal or Najin beating SKT would make things more interesting imo.

Tabe just realizes the law of the train so he's trying his best to make sure SKT's train is more hyped than theirs.

I'm expecting skt t1 vs Royal, too but I don't see how it would be the best case scenario. Because there's more hype to Faker vs. Uzi than whatever storyline you could make for Sword vs Fnatic.
What hype is there for Faker vs Uzi? No one outside of China knows anything about Royal or any of their players besides the 2 games they saw them play last night (which no one in Europe will have watched). Pretty sure there'd be far more interest in an SKT vs Fnatic final then SKT vs Royal, certainly everywhere outside of Asia if not everywhere outside of China.
