C9 is good about not committing the fatal errors that TSM and Vulcan have shown in their games vs the top teams. Other then that they were doing fine so its not a hard leap to say that C9 has more than a fighting chance at coming out on top vs a good portion of the other Top 8 teams. I just don't think they MU well with OMGs play style and of course every other team is strong so they aren't a favorite but I wouldn't write them off like some people have been doing.

It sucks that we don't get to see them until playoffs agreed, but those kids earned their hype at least from what they've shown against the NA teams. They don't really have a weak link; good champ pool; they have great chemistry in team fights; they have good drafting; their cs is very good (even when they're supposed to be behind they're right there in gold); and most importantly, they know how to close out a match. C9 is pretty good. Most people have beef about their early game and even then like I said, when they're supposed to be behind? They don't really appear to be behind at all even with their lackluster starts. They don't give you many opportunities to snowball and that's why every team has to take them seriously.

TSM legitimately outplayed lemondogs after being down 2 kills. Their players outperformed everyone in their respective lanes as well.

To TSM posting average to decent at best results against international teams who had never played TSM before...... lol tbh TSM with all their streaming and publicity seems pretty easy to prepare against. On that note, TSM's faults in their recent losses looked mostly mechanical- and coordination-related, both of which could be fixed with less streaming yoloq and more regimented 5-man practice that the koreans are known for Did it really look like OMG/SKT1 prepared/watched for TSM? Also lol, they always talk about their mechanics... They never get better. TSM is just well known for being stubborn and super clutch/good at LANs. SKT deffo looked like they prepared for TSM with how cleanly they reacted to things in game. OMG looked like they felt no need to prepare for TSM and decided that outplaying them would be enough (which it was).
@nafta I think it's more difficult to practice individual problems on ladder because of how little control you have over many circumstances of the game. It applies double for streaming because you are also concerned with how you appear, and some pro being super fussy about tiny mistakes on ladder just isn't as entertaining. Laddering also just associates itself with different attitudes within the player's mind, and it takes a lot of focus/discipline to overcome it and adopt a mindset more suited to practice (e.g. not at all focused on winning/LP).

I agree with this. Cloud9 is at his weakest early. I havent seen every na lcs match but they lost lanes vs Dignitas for example and were getting dominated by Vulcun multiple times, OMG would just own them early and then not throw as hard as some of the na teams did. Vs Fanatic though they might be able to stop the Peke splitpush with their good map movement mid/late game. For me Fanatic has the weakest lanes/early game from the teams that may advance,

i think all of the teams seeded into the upper bracket have a good shot at carrying through. they have so much more time to prepare with the latest materials from their opponents, and i don't think any of them (idk about gam. bears though, haven't watched) are unskilled enough to not give them a shot to win vs their opponents.

....did it look like OMG were arrogant versus TSM? Or SKT1?
But your main point is that because TSM posted better than expected performances against OMG/SKT1 (lol), and because C9 crushed TSM all the time, you think that C9 has a chance to take on the two teams....
Like.....if there was any flaw with the transitive property it would be here.

How TSM fared against the likes of OMG and SKT T1 don't represent how C9 will do, but at the very least they won't do worse.

Like they can hold their own, but if Dade is just too fucking heavy they can't just turn on hard carry mode.
Their bot lane has looked amazing
This could be selective memory of them crushing shit teams
