But basically LCS rules prevents you from entirely replacing the # of players on your roster and you have 3 max subs. I don't know the exact rules but afaik, benching TheTess, Sven and GodBro means NiP can't replace anyone else of the old active roster. So also if they have someone sick they're running on zero subs? That sounds... awkward.
No they have TheTess, Sven and GodBro as subs tho ofc there is a question if they want to come in to sub after being switched out.

It's easy to think of a role as weaker when other roles are stronger(Namely godly mids). It's similar reasons for Koreans ADC being called for so long. Their mid/tops are just so amazingly good that anything that doesn't crush like them is instantly viewed as bad when that's not true at all.

So basically as long as the initial 5 are included in subs+starters, you're fine, hence the max 3 replacements (because 3 subs). And the reason why the ex-Wolves were benched rather than outright ousted is to make the switch possible (since they're still on the roster in a wide sense)?

Looking at Spring Split, Nien, Turtle, qtpie played at a very high level and consistently carried their respective teams.
Not to knock at EU ADCs but they certainly don't carry games to the same degree as EU Mids or Tops.
Like onlywonderboy said, it's mostly hyperbole, don't take it to heart as a slight towards the entire EU region.

We've had this discussion before too, now that Riot segregated the regions it's hard to compare except on gut feelings and comparing the regions' separate play. Just watching the NA LCS and EU I've seen more NA ADCs carry the game for their team. Although this might just be an illusion because in EU the Mid laners are so much better they might seal a game before the ADCs can really shine. Maybe it's more of a spotlight thing where NA fans just care about ADCs more.

I don't see why, I just read the player trading section of the rules (section 4) and there are no restrictions mentioned for either trades or free signings until the end of the transfer period (August 5). In fact it even says that "There is no maximum total number of players who may be traded per split or per season."
