I wouldn't say CLG improved. Hotshot, bigfat, doublelift, and chauster are all the same skill as previously. They straight upgraded their jungle, which was much more important then the change top.

I dunno, I think that Doublelift improved. Bot lane is worse with loco than it was with Chauster imo and Doublelift played out of his mind this tournament.
Chauster and Doublelift still the best two people on that team, yeah. But Chauster improved too, his jungling looked stronger at this event than it did at MLG. Yeah, hotshot and jiji probably didn't improve that much.
Doublelift use to be carried by Chauster, now he has to carry Locodoco, thus forcing him to to have to try harder, inadvertently making him a better ADC, but the botlane is still weaker than old botlane combo (chau + DL), even though DL is bettter.
So I guess IPL 6 is happening in about four months Proof Quick turn around, but as long as the caliber of teams are the same or better I'll be pretty happy.

I don't think Chauster is as good as he says he is lol. Back in the days of NA/EU only tournaments, Chauster+doublelift would get either have someone get killed in a 2v2, or get double killed from a gank, but then Doublelift was straight up better at farming so eventually they would just win the lane. At best Chauster was as good as the other top NA supports, which we've found out all suck in comparison to Asian ones.

It happens in almost exactly 4 months. If that's a recurring pattern then we'll have 4 each year. And right around the time of final exams.

No credit to CLG.eu for their deep run in OGN LoL? Game 2 v WE was close too, and series v TPA was 2-1.
My bad, 3 EU teams now :> and hopefully more to come
It really depends on whether Fnatic can keep Rekkles for their AD carry in Season 3 and whether sOAZ's play gets more refined imo.
CLG.na can get on their level occasionally if they had a half-decent support player.
wat
I think Loco has brought a lot to CLG.NA in general knowledge, but I don't think he's great (in a relative sense) as a support player. I think Loco definitely can improve as a support though. Most of what I think he brings to CLG he would've brought in another role or as a coach.
What an awesome event IPL5 was. Almost everything about it was perfect.
I expected IPL to continue their events, IPL6 though will be after the official season 3 has started and we have no clue what will happen with that. I hope we get to see this kind of international events more and more and not only once a year.

Nah, I think he means CLG.na is not a strong team. I think they still have it, but their current performance is wrecked by having Locodoco in the team and their current potential is affected by having HotshotGG entrenched in the team. Still, they've shown that they can perform well in LANs and Chauster is currently carrying jiji's laning from the jungle so that they can all set up Doublelift for multi kills in the lategame.
Edit: I hope IPL6 will have a bigger prizepool for LoL. It doesn't make sense that they continue to have a lesser prizepool than SC2 when the interest in LoL is clearly higher.
Riot should be taking notes on how to run an event from IPL.
My only major quips for the event are: - Bo1 groupstage. Bo2 round robin groups are more fair because at this point both draft and map advantage are significant enough to be worth evening out. - No non-English coverage. Both the Garena Taiwan and MarsTV restreams got ~20,000 viewers apiece when I checked, and I'd expect similar numbers from a Korean restream. Official Chinese or Korean coverage definitely would have been worthwhile. - Award ceremony. Can't really blame IPL for this one, seeing as they're just awkward in general at a lot of tournaments.
Fucking award ceremonies. Like, could they seriously make it any more awkward? It's not fucking hard.
Announcer 1: Give a huge round of applause for our 3rd place winners, TAIPEI ASSASSINS! In the role of AD Carry, BEBE! The play caller of TPA, and support player, MISTAKE! The dominating AP mid; TOYZ! The jungler with the massive misnomer; LILBALLZ!, and rounding out the team with his amazing performance on top; STANLEY!
TPA, walks out one by one, as the name is announced.
Have a small interview, asking about thoughts on tournament placement, and any sponsor shoutouts.
Rinse and repeat for 2nd place team.
Then announcing winning team, longer interview. Then bring back up 2nd and 3rd place team, for huge photoshoot.
announcer: We'd like to give a big thanks to fans, and viewers at home for making this event a success/ Then sponsor shoutout, and release some small info on ipl6.

I imagine the BO2 group states aren't feasible simply due to time restraints. They would have had to either start each day ridiciuosly early in the day or started on Wednesday.

Can't interview TPA/WE if you don't have anyone to translate.

Could see them being feasible if the bottom two of each group straight up dropped out instead of went to loser's bracket (in general, you can fit a lot more if it's single elim instead of double. Whether that makes for a better tournament is up for debate.)
I really liked that ALL the games were streamed, though. That's my favorite part, even though I didn't watch every one, now I can toss on a game on my second screen at work during the times that I'm just pounding code away.
I would've liked to see TPA vs WE. Though TPA looked a bit off but on form TPA from the World Championships vs WE would've been a sight! Their laning is so strong @_@. But great job WE!

His english just has an accent, but it would way more passable than no interview at all. He did decent translation for the Pluto interviews w/ the Chinese players back in WCS, so I don't see the issue.
