wow i'm really impressed by fnatic, winning with aggressive play and all
it's just sad that they're gonna trip over their own aggression, it's just so much easier playing defensive

it doesn't matter if they dont have anybody on hand who spoke Chinese, none of the translations at TI2 made any sense but they entertained everybody anyways, just have somebody ad lib it
When in doubt, just believe in yourself and press buttons

The flaw in your plan is the part where you pretend IPL had any Chinese translation crew on deck devoted to LoL.

Can't interview TPA/WE if you don't have anyone to translate.

Nyjacky could have done it >.>

Idk if you heard Nyjacky's English but its not that great l0l He does interviews in Chinese sometimes because hes not very comfortable with his English

His english just has an accent, but it would way more passable than no interview at all. He did decent translation for the Pluto interviews w/ the Chinese players back in WCS, so I don't see the issue.

Also, doesn't TPA's manager also speak English?

TPA Erica just quit recently to pursue other things, she will be sadly missed =(

Yeah I was heart broken, apparently she had to leave Taiwan because of severe allergy issues too

Is Colalin's English any good?

Riot should be taking notes on how to run an event from IPL.

My only major quips for the event are:
- Bo1 groupstage. Bo2 round robin groups are more fair because at this point both draft and map advantage are significant enough to be worth evening out.
- No non-English coverage. Both the Garena Taiwan and MarsTV restreams got ~20,000 viewers apiece when I checked, and I'd expect similar numbers from a Korean restream. Official Chinese or Korean coverage definitely would have been worthwhile.
- Award ceremony. Can't really blame IPL for this one, seeing as they're just awkward in general at a lot of tournaments.

I imagine the BO2 group states aren't feasible simply due to time restraints. They would have had to either start each day ridiciuosly early in the day or started on Wednesday.

Could see them being feasible if the bottom two of each group straight up dropped out instead of went to loser's bracket (in general, you can fit a lot more if it's single elim instead of double. Whether that makes for a better tournament is up for debate.)

I really liked that ALL the games were streamed, though. That's my favorite part, even though I didn't watch every one, now I can toss on a game on my second screen at work during the times that I'm just pounding code away.

Or even kept the double elim bracket but done it where you had to survive the group stage first. That would have cut out 4 bo3s from the first round of bracket and then another one two from the next round if I'm not mistaken. 12-18 games there, which leaves 2-8 unaccounted for but potentially cold have been made up by the fact that there are six less setups before the matches and maybe starting a little earlier. All in all a fairly minor complaint for a great tournament but something they can improve for next time

I dunno. But apparently from Erika's twitter, she was at Ipl5, AGAIN, I don't' see why they couldn't of had a translator....

This tooo. Though it'd be awkward having 3rd place dudes be translator for first place finishers.

Hahahaha, still better than my Chinese, I personally can't really understand Chinese from mainlanders. I only got a ear for taiwanese accent.
GOOD JOB NEO. KEEP IT UP.

zzz, you guys are great.

4 days of 12+ hours of my feet, I'm tired.

I'll probably work on my blog at the airport and start on IPL5 write up when I get home.
