That, and the average american convention center hosts far more gun shows than bandwidth-intensive gaming competitions, so they rarely take the time/resources to set up the infrastructure to handle these types of events. Heh, gun shows in New York City. Sorry for those who don't know but that's akin to the idea of a Farming equipment show in the middle of the sahara. It's just not something that goes together. You are right however, most convention centers are not set up to deal with the kind of bandwidth intensive happenings of events like these. Most times these event centers are used for tradeshows and the odd political debate or such.(I spent alot of my younger years in convention centers doing various trade shows) I would however think that this will not be the truth for long because any convention center would love to get thar hands on a major event like this. Hopefully they can get things fixed soon.

Tournament realm is always 1 patch behind (occasionally 2 I believe, depending on timing). It means there's never a tournament on a brand new patch released that week that throws it all askew.

Games are still played live. The reason is basically so pros don't need to get used to a new patch a few days before a major tournament. They can practice on this old patch for a few weeks beforehand and not have sudden changes thrown at them. EDIT: beaten... by a lot of people...

I hate that place so much, but everything in the metro area ends up there anyway. They seem to have just given up with SC2 and resorted to recording vods to be released later from what I know, maybe that'll end up being the case here as well.

ScY was trying to get TL back together like 2 days ago. I told him no and I think everyone else did too. TL was a great time. We laughed, we cried, we earned esports $$$, we beat Unrestricted and lost to Jpak and friends. Those memories will live forever, but our time has passed and there's no point to getting us back together.

Auch What server are they connected too? I play in New York state as well and I know that one of the LoL servers is in NYC and I get 50 ping. How is the internet that bad there. I get better pings at my local Barns and Noble.
