I feel like Hunter's Potion is a giant trap. I can't think of any jungler that's willing to pay 250-400 gold for 5 of the weakest, slowest potions in the game. Sure, it recharges, but it suggests a jungler that is just staying out forever without backing. But I'm open to have my view changed.
Heck I feel like many junglers should just skip even the Refillable Potion.
On certain laners, I think it is better to start Refillable Potion + Long Sword rather than Doran's Blade + Health Potion.
Corrupting Potion leads to interesting, if slightly awkward moments where you're trying to do damage after being damaged yourself. It's definitely a pricey first buy but is a pretty nice amped-up Flask.

You can afford to waste some of the initial heal to just pop the potion, initiate a trade and dumpster your lane opponent with damage far enough ahead before the rest of your pot ticks out and they pot up.
The refillable potion seems pretty mediocre. Either start corrupting pot or use the 150g for 3 real potions. It's extra garbage in the jungle, where you really just want machete +3 (after a second day of playing around on different champs, talisman is definitively awful)

He doesn't need the help on his first clear. Instead, the refillable pot is good for randomly healing a few hundred hit points later in the game, where he takes champion damage but doesn't have to recall thanks to Q.

from the champs i play, I use corruption potion as a 1st lane item on panth and hunter's potion for panth/yi in jungle, the sustain is pretty good

Hunter's Potion is actually super good. Getting refills from killing camps keep you topped off and in ganking form, lessening the tension between farming and ganking. When at full stacks before killing a camp it will auto use the would be 6th stack so you don't waste efficiency.

Hunter's potion gives you a lot more flexibility in the jungle to jump between ganking and clearing. Early in the jungle it's a problem when you get down to like 1/3 hp so can't gank, but you can't back for anything worthwhile so you're stuck just clearing camps. Hunter's potion lets you be a lot more active and flexible, but it's possible that's just because I suck at jungling. Still though, I appreciate having a build option for people that suck at jungling :D

I've just adopted my early game around Machete or Talisman/Refill and on my back get the other and Hunter's.

I'm slowing coming around to Hunter's Potion. It's a lot of HP and mana over time. On the other hand, I've been backing for it early on then staying out for a long time, thus delaying my Tracker's/Skirmisher's/Stalker's upgrade and thus missing out on some XP and a smite buff. I think it's still worth it.

I think it's still worth it. Not to mention they're buffing refill next patch to 125/12 from 100/10. Being able to buy Machete or Talisman with Hunter's Potion should be fulfilling the jungle XP availability.
