Asking for 4 Korean teams instead of 3 LMS teams is hardly something that would ruin the theme of Worlds.

One of the big strengths about the Korean SC scene was team houses made having good, consistent practice partners super easy. Zest needs to prepare for a PvP match? Playing Stats is the obvious solution, regardless of whether he's still in the tournament. Is the same kind of relationships still there? Now that they aren't obligated by employers, do other interpersonal realtionships override former team ties? How do you juggle those relationships when it impacts your livelyhood?

Yes, because Blizzard's decisionmaking with respect to the SC2 scene is an exemplary paragon of what companies should look to in how to run an esports scene. Giving KR 4 teams and every other region 3 is just weird. Should the US get an extra gymnast to take to the Olympics? It's one thing if you make it something along the lines of "region of last year's champs get an extra slot". That's at least a non-discretionary objective rule. But if you're going to subjectively award KR an extra slot because they pwn, then why not give EU a slot over NA? What if a region only has two good teams (COUGH LMS COUGH), maybe we just give them two slots permanently? Is the painful and annoying debates every year about how many slots every region "deserves" worth the pretty minimal benefit of getting an extra Korean team into worlds? If you want to have the pre-ordained absolute best teams in the world at Worlds, then no wildcard team should be allowed in. Once you accept that you want the best from every region, Korea shouldn't get any special favors. It's one thing if a region consistently dominates a neutral tournament that allows every region a fair shot. It's another if the tournament structure is rigged to favor that region.

This is amazing. NYAG sues TWC alleging that they failed to provide a good network experience for their customers, based in part on Riot data. Riot says that customers consistently averaged over 100 ping until Riot had to pay TWC to cut their customers' ping. I used to have TWC. Fuck those guys. I once got an email from them with the subject line "WE'RE GOING TO CUT WHAT YOU PAY FOR YOUR INTERNET". I was pleasantly surprised, until I read the email to learn that my monthly rate was going up $20, but that they would be cutting it by $5 for the next month.

Although I would welcome another Korean team coming to worlds, I don't really care. Honestly, I can understand riot's decision to not give Korea another seed. An all-korean semi is probably an explicitly unwanted scenario. Overall, I think I like the changes. The wildcard teams will get some more (welldeserved) exposure, upset potential will be higher, and region vs region narratives will be easier to exploit (because Korea doesn't get into the picture until groups). On the provider: + Show Spoiler + "Consumer connections were deficient at a rate that was inversely proportional to the pricing tier, meaning that the more you paid Spectrum the less value you received for your internet subscription." LMAO!

I would guess that partially has to do with the current other jungle picks (rengar, khazix, etc) idk i did more research and reksais have been switching between the two since 7.1 its doubly weird because often they would switch between the two by the same player in the same series vs the same jungler + champion not sure if its based on ones comp... cant really find trends. the initial guess would be colossus if you're missing a tank in the top lane, but that doesn't seem to be the logic looking at the games' comps. or maybe they're just experimenting and haven't set on an 'optimal' keystone so yeah this is a question I hope gets answered by a pro or someone knowledgeable about reksai cause I don't really understand it

I find it's better if one of the top regions get an extra seed than another wildcard. I've never noticed EU demonstratively a better LCS region than NA. How many seeds each region deserve nonsense is overblown. When it comes down to it, it looks like this year's format is going to be better than last year's. For Riot and their esports idiocy, that's good enough tbh. and fk internet providers. Pretty sure everyone's in agreement of that. Not to mention that KR already has the advantage of their #3 team goes directly to groups and skips the Play-in Stage.

That being said, the NHL isn't participating in the next Olympics. Russia gonna win. Maybe Sweden / Finland.

I'm starting to wonder if Merciless is even worth having unless you're on a resourceless or 100% burst champion?

Now, I already know the response, which is that there’s non-linear returns, particularly in the first point of something. And I get it, but it just doesn’t apply here. That would be true if you had no mana regen whatsoever. But you already have base mana regen. You’re not going from 0 to something, you’re going from something to something slightly more. And if you really believed that logic, well you’re going to want to split 1/4 in every single mastery then. Instead of +5% attack speed, wouldn’t it make sense for an ADC to get +1% ability damage because “you have non-linear returns for the first point of additional ability damage”? Of course, you can artificially construct a situation where in retrospect the mathematically perfect mastery balance would have been to go 4/1 or 3/2 or whatever. But you cannot know these things ahead of time. Ahead of time, you have absolutely no way of knowing exactly how many points you "need" in each, and all you can say is that on this champion, against this lane, against this teamcomp, overall X is either better or worse than Y. There's no magic breakpoint, and even if there were, there's no way of knowing where it is of time..
