My phone auto generates it's, I don't know why. If I'm not paying attention every its becomes it's.

So what's the consensus on the new client? If I've been holding out, is it finally time to upgrade now that practice mode is here?

After using it for a while, I don't think it's that bad. There are still a few things that could be better. For example, you can't buy a champions from your 'collection' yet afaik, and I'm having trouble opening chats of groups (having to open chat with an individual first and then go to the chat of that group). Replay system is also nicely implemented.
Practice mode is really awesome, at least for a noob like me. Imo, possibilities are quite diverse.
I don't know any consensus, but I'm of the opinion that the new client is good enough to upgrade to (especially taken into account practice mode)

The only issue I really have with the new client is you can't minimize your friends list.
|
it's got annoying animations, you can't choose skins immediately after selecting your champ, can't use friend list in champ select. it's unclear if it's your turn to pick or ban.
but it has started taking less memory than the old one for me

It's hard to explain, the new one just feel.. Cleaner?

I agree, I haven't spoken to anyone on my friend list in years, but it's still in my face blocking space. I find it overall better than the old one, no problems with functionality and much better designed. On the plus side, it doesn't eat into my RAM like the old one either.

I disagree, I think it has room for occasional play, the problem is that the current meta does not favour it. Kog is a sitting duck for the likes of Jhin, Ashe and Varus CC, who are all better laners, throw in a Camille ult, Maokai root, or Syndra, and even with Lulu and Janna he's going to have a rough time staying alive. Also, he doesn't benefit from lethality.
I feel it can be drafted as a surprise comp, but league has changed and there are a bunch of new, incredibly mobile champions that Kog has to run from, and it unable to just sit and AA.

I barely use the client so I'm really only concerned with the CPU usage and champ select being functional. I don't think they will fully release it until it runs well (thats my hope anyway)
It looks nice on streams and the added things like champ ban quotes are cool. I don't know how functional it is from a practical standpoint but I think it will be improved upon or gotten used to.

I really dislike the chat functionality in the new client, plus it lags when selecting a champ, but apart from that it's fine.

same chat is super bad in the new client, also so many drop down menus and retarded symbols make it a little bit clunky to navigate

I don't think its mao or kamille, maybe Ashe/Varus are good factors against Juggermaw, but IMO its about its own core champ (lulu) losing power.
Lulu needs solo lane farm to give Kog (or Lucian in the Bang comp). The glitterlance nerf makes this really tough, particularly midlane. The movespeed on Whimsy was also crucial for ADC positioning, it let Kog dodge all the skillshots and weave autos much more effectively than otherwise. More attackspeed is superflulous if Kog can't safely auto.
While Kog has gone around in circles to get back to basically the same point, his ult is now probably worse for the juggermaw style because of the lower execute threshold, but thats debatable.
Ori, Tahm Kench, Karma, Janna, and Shen are meta champs that can conspire together to make Juggermaw work, but still probably not as well as a single, fed Lulu. Instead, IMO, if you want to run a Kog comp, you should probably go more standard and run something like A-Sol or another zone-creating midlaner with a beefy team that can peel for a 2-carry comp.

also both clients have been extremely buggy for me. i've seen the most random bugs on both clients but have stuck with the old one because it's bugs have been less damaging.
I've only used the new client like 10 times but have gotten 4 dodges from it due to bugs. Gave up on it for now.

Kog's w also costs mana. When juggermaw comps were last seen, it didnt cost any mana back then.
Also, if the bork changes on PBE go through then it will help kog a lot too as a lot of builds he does atm tend to leave him AS capped.

How do you recognise that? (as I've had quite a few dodges myself, in aram)
