Were there minions and/or a tower? Yes, Brand's passive showed as 1050+ or so damage from the passive in the death recap. Probably had deathfire touch, but it wouldn't be that much damage. He didn't ignite, no one was close enough to use ignite. No where near any other source of damage. I thought I was fine, then I took a burst of 1000 damage on top of his spells and was like wttttf. I was thinking maybe liandries+deathfire might do it, but even the most aggressive assumptions put it way under 1000. We also had a locket aura nearby, and he didn't have a void staff. Which I would have thought would be a requirement for hitting that much damage, but apparently not... he did have a frost queens claim, but when you're looking for a 500+ damage discrepancy in damage, that's peanuts. Is Death Recap trustworthy now? Not being snarky, genuine question. I've ignored it for so long because of how garbage it has been in the past.
His passive explosion does do a truckload of damage though. Random thought - a late Luden's proc?

Might just be years of uselessness, but I find that once multiple people start attacking you, it quickly approaches garbage data.
Just lost a game to a brand. He does oodles of damage if he doesn't die instantly, which tends to happen when you have roa/rylai's/liandry's. Pretty damn hard to burst a 3k HP brand who just sits around in the backline.
I'm still a huge fan of the protobelt item. Being one of two self-utility items for mages, it's pretty unique. Definitely very strong on Galio as even a dash>EQ can chunk the crap out of most people, and it's very low CD for what it does. It also gives champions with poor waveclear(not many AP's fit that category) a 40s method for eliminating creeps with extreme prejudice.

I love we have so many AP scaling AP items, on champions they make sense you can essentially build your own AP hypercarry now. All the bonus scaling you get from Hextech, Lichbane, Deathcap and Ludens really adds up.

its dfg all over again

I haven't had time to play this patch a whole lot, but I must admit I actually really love what they've done; outside of Syndra which I cannot figure out how to contain as a support, super rush locket (cut everything outside of sightstone and tier1 gold) doesn't seem enough to prevent a 100-0 kill with her ezmode 7 ball ult.
Catalyst/Roa + SV is hilarious in top, so much sustain. An enemy Singed with it just trolled around for what felt as hours.
I tried an off-tank top Viktor build, RoA/Iceborn/Abyssal, it was surprisingly effective did fine in lane and better impact in teamfights but I suppose it was probably the cheese factor that made me get through lane just fine - it was against a Poppy. The shield spam with healing from RoA and high resists made me really durable for such a high DPS/zone control "tank".
Any of you Viktor players got any thoughts on a tanky variation of him in toplane? It was really fun, so would love to try it again - tips and tricks would be much appreciated.

Just grab someone to pick Irelia or Riven and practice the lane and you'll forget about top lane Viktor.

Anybody try the new Righteous Glory on Sej? Ever since the Runic Echos nerf she's felt super slow and I'm looking for a "get in the fight" button, despite her itemization being pretty defined already.

idk i like cinderhulk on her, tried echo once and felt super squishy and didnt really feel like i do more dmg
|
Cinderhulk has been the way to go since the Echo nerf on her, she just feels soooo slow now.

when you play pig you just press R I don't think you need RG for any reason whats the point of getting into the fight? you don't deal much damage anyway once QER is off

The aoe slow that goes off seems pretty nice to me.

I've been spamming Sej for the last couple days, I'd personally rather have Randuins than Glory on her. You don't need the speedup from Glory if you position well and I'd rather have 50 armor + 35% slow than 75% slow, especially because health is really easy to get on her but resists aren't. (assuming normal builds with locket, SV, randuins/DMP) Now I know you're playing at a different ELO than I am, so maybe RG is more effective because players tend to do different things, but I'd still recommend Randuins because you need to get those resists up.

nice disguised brag post i doubt elo has much to do with anything in this situation
if you're super fed i guess RG is better for just trucking kids but generally I don't think its an item she needs a lot

Meant more like maybe nobody sieges towers/fights around objectives so the speedup could be more useful in chasing people through jungle. I imagine it might be situationally better, but you can never go wrong with Randuins. If you're super fed you're better off just getting super tanky. Maybe you could build Liandrys but I've done that in about 1% of my games so can't really say much about that.

Why not the Dash item into Assassin Sej? Eh? Eh?

I mean I never trust death recap, but I went from 2k health to 0, and he was the only person who hit me. The damage number on his spells looked correct, so that leaves his passive... plus liandries/deahfire touch, but meh. I'll probably grab a friend and go test numbers sometime.

Does Elder Drake do anything if you have 0 early game dragons?

You get a true damage burn on all your stuff equaling (n+1)*45, where n = # of small drakes you secured.
You also double the effectiveness of all your previous drakes.
Objectively, it is a pretty shit buff without a few previous drakes compared to the risk of taking it. At that point you just in it to stop the other team from rolling your shit with super drake buff.

I've played the reworked Taric for some time and I must say that I don't like the rework at all. The delay both on his E and R is anything but "clarity" in my eyes and doesn't allow for quick response to an unexpected situation (like gank). Instead the focus is on "making plays", which I don't buy.
Overall the recent new champions and reworks are underwhelming to me. I know, to devs simplicity is boring/binary/hard to balance and so on, but making overcomplex/minigame abilities is even worse, as in my opinion it can lead to the distraction - focusing on the ability, instead of e.g. the position on the map.
As long as some of the older champions that I enjoy will remain without reworking I'll probably keep playing, but if the trend will continue I'd rather they release "oldschool LoL" e.g. from season 2 and have two separate games (impossible, but one can dream).
