Goumindong, you're suggesting to max Q on Viktor to bully people, when that wasn't viable against anything that pushes before, and they've nerfed his E's damage. What makes you think it'd end any better for you now?

Prior to the changes you'd skip W and put another point in Q at level 4 because it made you strong at all points in lane (save level 2 if you didn't harass enough, 'cause E not much damage for a bunch of mana and long cd at that point), and that stopped being a thing when flash was introduced. You'd never max Q mid, and you'd never go top (technically you could, but technically LoL isn't about feeding a bruiser and getting zoned off farm from level 3-4 onward).
Cant take LMS hipsters serious.

Out of curiosity, which junglers can clear dragon before it can reasonably be warded at level 3-4, before or right after first back.

Followup - If it's a water dragon, and enemy team has taken scuttle(99% chance drag itself isn't warded), is it worth flashing over the back of the pit to solo the dragon with said champs?

Well they didn't nerf his E damage for wave clearing because they removed the damage malus on his Q aftershock. His total E damage went from 98/154/210/266/322 (+0.98 ability power) to 90/170/250/330/410 (+1.2 ability power). That is a buff to total damage at all ranks (assuming you have at least 36 AP). Once you have rank 3, you're one rank ahead. Once you have 330 AP or so that is more damage with new rank 3 than old rank 5.

So you're always better at wave clear (once you have the upgrade) even if you're a rank under what you would have been. If you have a handful of AP you can almost assuredly get away with 2-3 ranks in E as sufficient wave clear.

edit: Am i reading this right? Or is there something in the notes that i am missing. His E is less reliable for hitting the second hit (1 second delay) but more reliable for hitting the first hit (35% faster travel speed) with less damage for hitting only one part, whatever part that is, but more damage for hitting both

If you max Q first it's going to be impactful before you have the augment.
And that's pretty much the nerf yeah. You're going to have to play against potatos or have your team setup cc for you to hit E2 tho.

The strange thing is didn't they nerf his E a while back (when he was a regular pick) because he was too good at wave clearing?

They did. Then people mostly stopped playing him once they changed MR because waveclear and teamfight damage was what he did.

Well they're nerfing water on PBE, but air and earth are still quite underwhelming.

To be fair, though, Air and Earth are always going to "feel" underwhelming for the same reason Janna's old passive was underwhelming yet OP. Earth also apparently increases smite damage vs Baron/Dragon, which is (probably?) a bug but if it stays, it makes it super important for smite-fights.

Yeah the earth smite bug is pretty huge I got outsmited by a vi with 2 earth dragons as gragas. I originally thought I fucked up but her q smite just did retarded damage. Can't remember last time I lost a smite war on gragas while ahead

How much ms did jannas old global passive do compared to air Dragon? Because it was very strong but basically no one noticed other than win rate. Maybe air is the same?

Jannas old passive was 5% iirc and wasn't "out of combat limited". At 5%, 350 move speed would generate 17.5 extra MS.

So air drake is weaker in general than Jannas old passive and limited to out of combat whereas Jannas was not.

If you never noticed janna's old passive you probably never really played sober.

Remember when the marksmen weren't the only plebs begging for the janna in champ select.

Her passive had two iterations before her current. The global was 3% and the next was a 5% large aura.

As a dirty Janna player I'll be the first to admit her global was broken.

Plebs? Or just real kill thirsty Junglers?

<3

Also, your team getting Janna meant you could gank a lane that didn't have Janna. Can confirm for a long ass time ganking a Janna lane was borderline impossible unless you had Lee Sin. Other popular Junglers just kind of got laughed at. Lol poor Warwick / Udyr / Trundle / Nunu trying to kill a Janna.

Even Shaco had a hard time making enough damage stick unless fed.

It was 5% global at one point. Probably for the majority of my play time with her. I recall that specifically and also it's what I read when I looked back at the passive by utilizing the history of lolwiki
