I am quite surprised Meteos comes back to C9 main team and they basicaly change on 3 positions. Also the article says Rush remains on the sub team and doesnt go to NRG as I thought. That move would make so much sense though. With GBM, Rush and then Kiwikid NRG would be like the craziest team next split. Quas coming back is also nice. Maybe Diamondprox could go to NRG then? I guess the idea for C9 is to retain all its last split players in case the roster move does not work out so they can change back.

I dont see them automatically as one of the best teams, although experience surely has its value. The way CS works now as a sub league for LCS is really interesting. You can question competetive fairness when compared with new teams. But it also gives newer players an opportunity to learn from experienced players and show themselves to get a spot on the main team.

Putting Rush in challenger gives Jensen/Impact time to gel while also getting sweet LCS boosting money if they make it through. It's a solid plan if that's what they looking at I think. Sacrificing power this split for a better one next year instead of just hemorrhaging with Hai constantly.

tl;dr Noxiak, Tabzz contracts not renewed Fredy no longer the starter Edward visa issues Weird how much Tabzz has fallen off. He wasn't the best adc when alliance won their split, but he was definitely above average/near the top still at the time.

I never understood why some rated him so highly but being benched from Roccat is pretty rough. Same for Noxiak. I really wonder who Roccat are going with, I am guessing Koreans.

Because getting a girl is the end of your career in like 90% of situations. especially for someone like Tabzz or Extinkt, guys who never wanted to compete in LCS in the first place since its introduction, despite being one of the greatest talents Europe has ever seen. Great job, C9, Balls, Hai, Altec and Lemon is definitely what I consider "fostering new talent". Kinda sux that Contractz didn't get a spot, hopefully kid finds something to go with. I wonder if Hai is going to just play midlane for this team, considering that there is noone who can abuse him in NACS, so they can cruise control to LCS spot. What is even more interesting is that a lot of people talk that franchising will happen next year, so Hai might aim for something Astralis'esque in terms of building his own brand.

They just abusing riot's LCS boosting rules. They're going to develop solo by having hai and the lads elo boost him to LCS ![]()

Next step I'd like to see is for the LCS format itself to start moving in that direction, instead of the constantly revolving door of bottom LCS/top Challenger. Makes it hard for the orgs in that skill range to keep a solid brand identity.

I've always wondered why eSports orgs don't try to emulate the traditional sports model of "main team + farm team". Judging by these changes with the Challenger team and what-not, it seems like that's the general approach C9 is starting to take. Next step I'd like to see is for the LCS format itself to start moving in that direction, instead of the constantly revolving door of bottom LCS/top Challenger. Makes it hard for the orgs in that skill range to keep a solid brand identity. I think Riot themselves need to decide what they want Challenger to be. As it currently stands an LCS team can buy a challenger spot, fill it with players they want to, then if that team qualifies for LCS they MUST sell that spot. I think Riot either needs to say LCS teams can't have challenger teams in the same region and encourage B-level players to exist in Challenger and A level players to be big teams (read 10 man roster) in the LCS, or allow sister teams and keep everything that exists as it is. I would rather see the second option personally but I'm just not a fan of what challenger currently is.

So you would like to see sister teams in LCS but you dont like sister teams when they are in LCS and challenger? I dont get this.
