But I don't think he's miles ahead of Ssumday and Smeb as people think and benefited a lot from Faker being Faker. in terms of just his laning/individual play I agree with you, but then he's also the shotcaller and given how dominant SKT was in a macro sense having a top 3 toplaner in the world and a top 3 shotcaller in the world is ridiculously valuable. I guess I'll be content with faker/bengi duo staying. glad bengi is sticking it out (assuming so since they let t0m go) wonder if they'll actually buy a player this time. don't think they have a soloqstar in the toplane again this time im assuming marin/easyhoon longzhu-im? that team seems monstrous if rumors are true. top marin jg spirit mid easyhoon mainly people who don't put into consideration his shotcalling/leadership. in terms of pure toplane skill, mechanics, laning, etc. there are better but marin's shotcalling and leadership is very very valuable. then again SKT utilized it/groomed him very well also so who knows how it'll pan out on another team. yo that team would be ridiculous, would love to see that.

Yup. Calling somebody overhyped doesn't mean they're bad.

I guess it depends on how hard you think people are hyping him, but my perception of others' perceptions is that he's the best, maybe 2nd best shotcaller and top 3 in terms of being a top laner, which is about where I'd put him like unless people are calling him the solo carry of SKT and I missed it or something idk who's overhyping him.

I've seen so many people say Faker barely did anything at Worlds and it was all Marin.

Why Marin though. Breaks my Heart. Can't it be Wolf leaving instead.

I've never seen that but those people are retarded On November 25 2015 16:31 Itsmedudeman wrote: I don't see faker replacing marin as the next leader for SKT. He just doesn't come off as that guy. Bengi? Too reserved. Wolf or Bang? Hell no. So you need a new guy that can come onto a legendary team that can lead SKT right off the bat. Who the hell can even do that? MAYBE Shy, but Marin was irreplaceable with any top laner in the world in my book. IMO you just try to replace with best available talent and figure out leadership/shotcalling over the course of the split, I figure SKT's support staff+the rest of the players can figure it out, getting anything close to replacement level in skill for marin is harder than figuring out leadership imo

It's wrong if they are using that to imply Faker is bad/played bad but literally all Faker needed to do was not feed. Besides some Ryze performances where he went off pretty much nearly all games were decided by toplane and/or team rotations. Not Faker's fault the meta was that way but that's just how it was. I mean consistently winning lane against the best in the world allowing SKT to make aggressive proactive rotations isn't really barely doing anything, it's just that by our expectations for Faker it seems comparatively average. Like it's really easy to just gloss over what happened by saying "and then the team rotated to win" but most of those rotations were only possible because multiple lanes were winning

![]() I think Faker underperformed expectations at Worlds, but then again, he didn't need to wreck everyone for SKT to win. I mean, he was still very influential on the meta by bringing in Ryze and showing his power. I think we could have seen more niche picks from Faker if SKT were threatened, but nobody threatened them. :/
