Everyone comes out looking a bit shit here imo. H2K for lighting the fuse and bringing it public first off instead of working behind the scenes with Riot. Regi and his chums for springing straight at Reddit for muh community support. Sven probably should have known better than to sign something and look to back out of it too, but it's hard to know how much he knew in the situation. Pretending like prevailing mindset isn't a thing just because the active poster amount is much smaller is kind of obtuse. Both sites really obviously have their biases; Reddit's are just outspoken and much funnier to point and laugh at.
It's got nothing to do with the size of the site, it's how the content is structured. There's no promotion of content based on popularity here, so it's harder/impossible to judge what the "prevailing mindset" of the site really is. There's plenty of TSM fans on LL and just because posts criticising TSM don't get buried by downvotes doesn't make the site anti-TSM.
Basically I wish people would play the ball, not the man. People should be able to call shit arguments out for being shit, not just resort to calling the site/posters out for being biased.

I think it's funny H2K offered more money than TSM and still won't get him.
Also, finally a statement from one of the parties that is actually clear and concise and actually written with PR in mind.

Also, just because, by flair count, TSM is the largest flaired team doesn't mean anything. Thousands of people have favorite teams but choose to have a champion instead. Some people don't have anything. Some people lurk. Pretty much anything by a fan that is positive of hopeful from MSI through Worlds has been taken a dump on because being the biggest fish doesn't matter when all the smaller fish hate you or want to make fun of you. I've seen, on multiple occasions, on the TSM subreddit people say they don't post in the main sub because of the harassment having a TSM flair can garner.
Let's be real, this is a guilty until proved innocent age. The prevailing opinion on reddit is that Regi is in the wrong.

I assume you are talking about my previous post? I did not label the entire website as "anti-TSM", just a few select (but prominent) posters in the last few pages. I have no issue with TSM anti-fans, you are free to love or hate whatever team you want but when you use that hate as an "argument" in deciding which side to support in this drama, you are letting your judgment get affected by your emotions, which does not lead to well-thought out posts.
EDIT: In hindsight, I should not have went on a rant about LL posters vs redditors, it is just that Numy's post reminded me of some posters that just blindly hate on Reddit. There are pros and cons to Reddit's upvote system as well as LL's classic forum system, as well as good and bad posters on both sites.

Huh, that's a rather unprofessional letter Regi got from that law firm, both in tone and in simple errors. And it should be a firm used to writing in English since it's based in New York state.
Edit: When EU teams talk salary, especially to compare against NA offers, am I supposed to understand it is euros or USD?

So it's about 71k USD a year.
Well, we always accepted that salaries in NA were greater than EU, but this adds some context that I, at least, didn't have.
Also, the letter does seem to imply that H2k was looking to sell with a signed Sven.
|
Well, if that's not strong-arming and harassment from Richard Wells, I don't know what is. Good thing that this came out in the open for other LoL players to learn about this sort of thing and how exactly it goes down.

Apparently H2k wants to sell and the deal is supposed to include a signed team. I guess this made them somewhat desperate to finalize the deal with Svenskeren and made them resort to strongarming.
Overall rather sad how things get dragged into the mud now.

I mean it's already too late for H2K. They really shouldn't have tried to fight TSM lol. It doesn't matter if they were in the right, TSMs fanbase is too big and the community loves them too much for the truth to mean anything. You can see them dismissing everything H2K says already. One single post in a reddit thread is enough for Regi. Dude you are the one that picks a side here without having a clue about anything, just because you dislike one of the sides involved.
Huh? I get that you have this bias against me(ie; we dislike each other) but I haven't picked any side. I think it's likely that Sven is the one that messed this all up and all parties are partly wrong but with TSM ultimately not doing anything too bad. My issue with is how guys like C9 Jack and the community handle the situation. That and the fact that trying to go against TSM is just idiotic. You'll lose no matter what happens.
Really just starting to hate C9 Jack. First was him chipping into the whole RNG thing with nothing of value to say while not being apart of anything. Now it's him doing the same here. All the while he has this massive shitfest in his Dota 2 team and he hasn't even responded to that yet.

Technically wouldnt the Dota2-manager have to comment on that side of the thing and not himselft?

First off, why is it that, from my own anecdotal experience, europeans always type like that? Lots of ellipses, and XD faces, and spamming "hehehe." Is this some hip way to be aggressive online
Second, really glad TSM got him. H2K in this scenario looks really bad. Interested to see how Svenskeren will do, wasn't aware he was considered this good
Edit: Sven looks really bad in this too reading it again, he's just being super aggressive, which usually solves nothing

Well if he has time to write one liners on reddit for a situation he has absolutely no part of I'd think as the CEO of C9 he'd have time to deal with a player caught creating a hate group to leak private information about a team in an attempt to destroy them as well as harassing, stalking and threatening another players family.
I don't actually see any specific Dota 2 manager. Only a coach. So no idea who deal with it. Either way I just dislike how often he's sticking his nose into situation he seems to have no part of aside from being friends of one party.
Reading these Regi screenshots really doesn't shine a good light on Sven. I get he's a kid but it looks like he really made this situation go out of control by not being able to just communicate like an adult.

I didn't say they were equally at fault, I said that they weren't 100% clean but most likely didn't do anything that wrong and the least at fault party. Sven comes off to me as the one that really messed up this whole situation and the most at wrong about this whole ordeal. I just don't buy into a party being completely devoid of any wrong doing in such a situation and I dislike how this situation has turned into the public thinking that.

Are we really holding a 19 year old kid to the same standards as the CEOs of two big companies/teams? Especially considering this 19 year old, by the looks of it, is being pressured or harassed with ultimatums about his future. As immature as I think Svenskeren is (especially following the Taipei Chingchong incident), he's not the one we should look at if we want to assign blame here.

Maybe the better choice would be not touching an immature 19 year old in the first place.
