The whole point of the tribunal is that it's supposed to create a social norm that is equivalent to face to face interaction, through punishment. Problem is that it's going too far in it's implementation. In any form of competition, even a stupid game of monopoly, a certain level of insults, banter, and trash talk is expected, and is the social norm. Especially since certain cultures are very fond of banter, now we have this homogeneous RIOT approved G-rated chat for 8 year olds. Hell, even in FGC, where there's a lot of face to face interaction between minority groups, trash talk is a time honored tradition of who can fling the most shit, and getting called out in money matches, and having shit talkers eat the shit they spew when they lose. Trash talking your teammates isn't trash talking, it's being an anti-social ass. You trash talk the enemy team which I have seen almost no one get offended about unless the game is actually over because then it's just mean. | ||
