You mostly use turrets and turrets only cost 20 mana. Also since you'll almost always start a camp, you can TP to lane with a bunch of potions.

Normally all you do is buy 1 damage item (I prefer hydra but brutalizer/ghostblade isn't bad) and then stack health/mitigation items. Helps that you can use item actives when your passive is going as well. You can even play him as support bot lane since he can does good damage, is tanky, has good utility and armor shred, and utilizes targon's very well.
Also vision != wins, I buy 0 wards and I do just fine while I've seen bronze (diamond) players who buy a ton of wards just suck so bad at the game that they're still bronze (diamond). Please don't give terrible advice about vision when every analyst has hours of explaining how and why having vision is important. maybe in pro games but solo q is a different world entirely also a lot of analysts are shitty players, i have a silver friend who follows ogn and calls my playstyle utter shit, but there's a reason people like him are still silver "[My] friend who follows ogn" is not an analyst. Also, buying 0 wards and doing 'just fine' doesn't really mean anything. Players better than you buy wards and do fine, does that instantly override your observation? Players worse than you have tried following both paths and failed. Maybe not buying wards is holding you back and you don't know it because you have falsely decided '[you] do just fine.' Maybe not. This isn't so much about calling you wrong(although I believe you are) and more about pointing out how dumb and lacking in any actual content the statement is. Ward trinket is enough in solo q bro, if you spend more you're wasting gold
An upgraded trinket and some pink wards here and there are enough if you have the game sense and map awareness to fill in the holes of vision.

Please explain! Where do you use trinket when playing mid so that you know you are safe? What do you do as top laner? Do you never push the lane? Are your champions super mobile so escaping ganks is easy? What do you do when your trinket has expired but is still on cooldown?

Nah, it's really not bro.
If you're playing a champ with any sort of low mobility and/or you're an aggressive laner, you become a prime target for a gank. Even if you know it's coming, with things like Chilling Smite (less so with this latest patch), it's very easy to get caught out.
A 1 minute ward is not enough to keep you safe all of lane phase unless you're playing like a massive bitch.

What do you do when your trinket has expired but is still on cooldown? I don't play mid much except for shit like heimerdinger or bruisers so my experience there is limited. Just ward that one river bush that's further out and stay towards that side.
Top I play a lot of stuff. Those of you who remember me probably would think of top nunu, but I don't play him anymore (I would buy maybe one ward back then when wards and boots3 were considered mandatory). Ward deep river. Nowadays I play stuff like amumu and tryndamere. Tryndamere is pretty lenient cuz spin, but with amumu you have to be a bit more careful.
Bot lane is usually for when I duo q, and usually me and my partner just alternate trinket wards in the tribush (mid ward should cover river ganks).
If your trinket is down, use common sense. Don't push unless you see the jungler in another area or until your trinket is up, be careful if your opponent turns aggressive out of nowhere, etc. At my elo, lane ganks (or those retarded shaco ganks) are much more successful, and wards don't really stop those. Unfortunately, people who bought their accounts or got boosted lack this game sense (having sold elo in the past, I can tell you elo boosting/account selling is much more rampant than you think).
In terms of pushing, you don't push unless at least of one of the following are true: a. Enemy is dead or b b. Your jungler/mid wants to dive c. Trying to get a level up for an all-in This doesn't hold true for shit in mid, but I don't really play mid.
There's a lot of shit that is good in progames that are terrible in solo queue. One thing besides overbuying wards and picking shitty champions is taking exhaust bot lane, which usually results in an exhaust after all offensive cooldown are already used. Ignite is better in most games.

Reddit frontpage is so salty. I don't think it's ever been this salty for a patch before. Do people actually care about the state of their game now all of a sudden? Thx Gahlo!

There is a difference between overbuying wards and not buying wards.Exhaust is better than ignite 90% of the time.

How many wards is too much wards? I recently had a game where I played mid and was doing very badly in lane and noone except for me and support warded so I ended up buying 3 wards pretty much every time I bluepilled, is it possible that we lost because of it?
|
Well depeneds on what champion you played and at what times you bought them hard to say without having the slightest of clues about how your game went.It also depends on what you are doing as a team.Wards are always good honestly if you use them properly but solo isn't exactly the place where people play smart.

Stop telling people not to buy wards.

You tell me if you're overbuying (I'd say it is, especially if you're already behind in gold). The real problem is buying sightstone; that item is the biggest noob trap since madred's bloodrazor. Look at the stats and the item win rate and tell me if its worth it (hint: it's not).
And I'm not telling people not to buy wards, I'm telling them to not buy more than upgrading the trinket and pink wards as needed. Honestly, if you know what you are doing, the trinket will suffice for general vision needs.
And to reiterate, this is for solo q, pro games are a whole different animal.

Er let me get this clear before I proceed. Are you saying Sightstone is a waste of gold on all champions? Specific champions? Roles?
|
Well, winrate averages about 50.3% for sightstone so yeah, I'd say it's worth it on most supports, and certain junglers like Lee Sin and Nunu, although I do agree that the item is really situational on junglers.
