Why stop at flaming and being an asshole? Is stealing from people online acceptable? Yes, yes it is. I've stolen hundreds of diablo 2 accounts throughout my youth and resold their contents on d2jsp. Thats not something to be proud of man, you should be ashamed of yourself. Its not right to take other peoples stuff man. You realize that lots of those people paid money for their gold on jsp right? You basically stole a bunch of twenties out of some guys wallet. But not just 1 guy, like 300. You're a criminal bro.
I didn't steal anyone's forum gold on JSP. you're completely misrepresenting the situation. I don't want to derail the thread to defend/clarify/downgrade my asshole rating, but I stole some kids enigma inside the diablo 2 game, and then sold it on d2jsp for forum gold. my actions on d2jsp were 100% reputable and legit, all of my behavior while using diablo 2 was fucked up and wrong.
The purchase of the 1's and 0's that are items on diablo 2 using real money is 100% illegal according to their terms of service as all items in diablo 2 are property of blizzard. if anything, the analogy is closer to stealing meth from drug user. You can make your own meth(find items legitimately), but owning it is not legally allowed. You could alternatively spend real money to buy meth from a drug dealer(pay money on a website to acquire items). someone stealing your meth is not something you can(or should, rather) call the police for. any analogy where you either did not own, or came to own illegally is more apt than straight theft of tangible goods.
In no way is this comparable to opening someone's wallet and snatching 20's.
How much is a 12 year old's time spent gaming worth to society? At worst, I am responsible for stealing hours and hours and hours of time from children. And I'm pretty sure this is not measured in dollars.
Edit:
and I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think PrinceXizor nailed this one: Why would you play on an alt when your Riot account has EVERYTHING unlocked. If rage-afking after 2 failed surrender votes is the worst this guy has done, please leave him alone.

Legalism 101: It's ok to be as much of an asshole as you want to as many people as you want as long as it isn't illegal.

On the one hand, you just said that what you did in DII, stealing virtual items from people's accounts, was wrong.
On the other hand you initially answered "Is stealing from people online acceptable?" with "Yes".
Are you surprised that you're confusing people?

Pretty sure the person you are quoting is using irony to show how absurd my point of view is. I'm just saying because it doesn't feel like this deserves a whole page of moral judgement. I guess I shouldn't have written that comment anyway since nothing relevant came out of it anyway >.> All I'm saying is that wanting a guy on a cross because you were slightly upset by one of his actions for 5 minutes of your life might be excessive. I 100% agree with this. People have bad days and he really shouldn't lose his job over it (though I think he should at least get an internal slap on the wrist). I was merely stating that just because it's online I don't think normal standards of behaviour shouldn't apply.

Especially if it's an isolated incident. If he's made a habit of bad behavior towards players it may be a different story.
