You don't get the "you've been reported recently" pop-up for the game you've just finished, but when you've been reported multiple times over multiple games recently. Riot wouldn't tell you "one of these 9 guys in your previous game reported you, he probably told you so in chat, go ahead and harass him."
About the "just get thicker skin", there are probably situations/stuff that irks them too, simply not in LoL. Well others can be aggravated by being insulted online, acting mighty about how you aren't as affected won't change much about the situation. On the other hand, Riot is a company. Remember? It's in their interest that people keep playing the game. Turns out a large part of the player base doesn't enjoy being cursed at, and it acts as a deterrent to them logging on more often, or at all. So. Do you expect Riot to sigh like you do, tell them they should get thicker skin, and berate them? Or do you expect Riot to try and make the environment more bearable so people play more? Pretty much this. I think reporting people for cursing or yelling at someone is stupied I feel people do need thicker skin and need to stop being such little bitches but from riots POV they are running a bussiness and banning ppl serves a duel purpose it keeps the people who's feeling get hurt to easy from quitting the game and they make money of people who have to start new accounts losing all the things they spent rp on.

Its bad because its free, easy to get into and requires your team mates help to succeed.

That is totally reportable thing, at least for me, asking people out if they are retarded deserves to be punished. Also I have no idea how do you "ask in a nice way" about that. This is something that I cannot understand in the LoL "community". Why would you report a guy who tells you that you are a "retard" ? I'm not even talking about the case where the guy is "asking it in a nice way", which I think doesn't exist. Let's take the worst case : someone flames you all game long (stfu", "retard", "gtfo"). I genuinely wonder : why would you report that guy ? I have never reported someone for doing so. The underlying question is : can't you put up with it ? Do you have to react to it ? Can't you just ignore the guy, or have fun reading his comments ? I'll take a case that is similar to this ; no one would ever think about something like a report in such a case. In Starcraft 2, therer were some very bad cases of rage. I think everyone of us is from SC2 so everyone can understand : did you ever use the "report" function on the guy who told you that you were a "worthless piece of shit" ? I don't remember that anyone did that. It was not a thing. Why was it not a thing ? Because people put up with it. It's as simple as that. People knew that such behavior does not deserve a "serious" reaction. We just found it funny when it happened. Why is the same behavior considered something "serious", something that has to be punished, in LoL ? Why can't we have a good laugh at people when they are all rage ? Even "in the street", although it is very rare, it can happen to be cursed at for whatever reason. Are you going to lose it and wish the guy who did that would be "punished" ? Personally I don't give a shit bout something I dont know cursing at me. There was this guy who told my sister she was a "bitch" because she was on his way and apparently he couldn't mmake two additional steps to walk around her. I was with her, in a street with no one else, significantly stronger than him. I could have "punished" him, nothhing would happen to me because you're not going to get reported to the police for just knocking someone down. At least not where I live. I could at leaast answer to him, tell him to get fucked or something. And I didn't do any of that because his behavior just doesn't deserve a reaction. It just is a bit stupid and it is laughable because he's obviously getting upset for no reason. He's punished enough already by being upset ; why would I want him to be knocked down in addition to that ? Riot has invented a new reason for being "punished". It was a bad idea in the first place since it is certain that the constant threat of "being reported" doesn't help anyone to keep calm, and almost evry form of "flame" includes report threats. But I don't get why people think that you have to use these report buttons that Riot created for no reason. "Reporting" is straight up inferior to ignoring (and I'm not even talking about the "ignore" function, you can ignore people while seeing what they are writing), because when you report someone it means that you couldn't refrain from reacting to something that really doesn't deserve a reaction. And you didn't manage to just have a good laugh at something that really isn't that serious either. I don't know maybe that's just how I am though. Shit, here comes another "people should have 100% control of their emotions" eurotard.

Do you actually hurt when you get flamed ? Do your feelings get affected when someone tells you that you're a retard ? Maybe I live among superheroes but none of my friends get "offended" or "hurt" when they are flamed. They do report people though. And I dont really imagine someone whose heart is bleeding when I am told that I will be reported. People report other people because they can, because "it's a thing". It's a custom. SC2 had the flame and no one ever used the report button, because it wasn't how things worked. Riot created reports as a part of the game itself, not as a side measure for extremely severe cases (like Blizzard). Reporting people and saying so in chat is part of "League of Legends" as a game. If you are actually hurt by someone when you report him then I'm learning something new though.

i dont like the normals= low priority thing, there are a lot of people who have no interest in ranked play and now they either play in permanent LP or they have to move to ranked.
It didnt do starcraft2 any good to force people into ladder.

Wow different people experience the same thing different. Why are people even arguing this shit. It's basic common sense.

There seem to be 3 schools of thought here:
1) The system's not perfect but it works reasonably well. 2) There shouldn't be any system at all and people should just be able to say whatever they want with no repercussions. 3) The system is terrible and all the data that Riot provides to show how well it's working is actually just fake/skewed.

Honestly the only way system could work better is if it actually banned people.I mean it is legitimately hard to get banned no matter what you do.

Y'know, if you try to punch me, I'll react to it. You don't have to manage to hit me nor to actually break my jaw for me to react to it. Just because I'm not crying in a corner at the end of a game doesn't mean I enjoy the entitled flamer flooding us with his mastery of the cursing lexical field.
