Ocelote might have thought he was buying on a trial basis and LS didn't do much to disavow him of that notion Which makes a lot of sense if the consulting is that expensive. It's more likely/possible that LS charged him the same rate for material creation (IE the vods) which would normally not be charged for. This seems more likely since LS didn't give specific billable hours. 10-14 hours? What did you do for four hours that you aren't sure of when you're working for 200 an hour?

It's mind boggling as to why there are no contracts in place when the fee is close to 200 dollars an hour. That's potentially thousands of dollars involved. Not to mention this "trial period" is vert sketchy and needs to be well defined.

That being said who would pay 200 dollars an hour for coaching? Holy fuck $32,000 a month for a coach? That is a yearly salary for an LCS player (before sponsorships and streaming) you could buy a b team for that much money that isn't how hourly works you don't just multiply it out

Both of them are a plague in esports that refuses to be "cured"

Yes, in the US a contract only requires a meeting of the minds, thus voice chat / IM chat logs can be used as a basis to establish a contract. But ultimately the the contract needs to be interpreted in court, which can be very difficult when it is in a loose form.

He (Lastshadow) estimates the total amount of coaching to be somewhere between 12 and 14 hours. He doesn't even know himself how much money he should be charging.
