It's the same thing as a guy who sells t-shirts or pictures of some famous celebrity to fans. My contribution to this discussion is to agree with this stance. Chinese routing and the way the site tracks things leads to a lot of inaccuracies in overall viewer-count and its obviously in the site's best interests to make the numbers seem bigger. Nobody knows for sure how inflated it is but things like basic experiments with a channel that starts with 0 viewers, streamers trying to get all their viewers to go a another channel, etc. and matching with previous numbers have given people some guesses. Basically after some investigations netizens of a popular DotA forum basically agreed that the Douyu numbers for DotA streamers were about 3-4x inflated and that has become a generally accepted figure for the site.

It actually annoys me just because of how atrociously cheeky it is. But mostly because it was so fucking ez to do and he making mad dolla

It's needed to make sure everything runs smoothly but at the end of the day you aren't actually producing any content. Much like how the streaming faker is needed for the world but isn't producing anything on it's own :D Does anyone know if the playoffs is on Gnar patch? You aren't producing content, but you are hired by a company to manage something. You are providing a service to do work for an entity by manipulating their stuff. This guy is taking something he doesn't own without consent and making money off it.

If it has to do with him making "easy money", from what I've seen, it seems like he puts a good amount of effort into the stream, he's not just afking. He interacts with chat, puts on replays so there's always content. He quit his job, readjusted his sleep schedule around Faker's playing time, and dedicates a significant amount of time to the stream to provide an apparently demanded service. I think trying to get him shut down is just petty. If people disagree with what he's doing, then they won't watch his stream, and he'll have to quit the whole Faker spectating thing.

Well there's the question of how faker feels about having all his solo q games recorded and archived, with worlds just around the corner. Sure solo q is hardly secret, but not many koreans have easily browseable archives for anyone to go through. There's a difference between a team analysing some of your solo q games as a result of their coach specifically going out of his way to watch your games, and having all your games recorded for any random analyst to watch on demand. Besides, if faker wanted to stream he could, the fact that somewhere along the line he made a conscious decision not to should count for something. Personally I don't feel that strongly about it either way, it'll sort itself out somehow, either by staying or going away, but there's more to it then him "stealing potential money" from faker.

Kespa players aren't allowed to stream. Supposedly it's in their contract.

Yeah, the whole solo queue privacy thing is a bit of an issue, but that's on Faker, and I'm sure if he told the streamer to cease and desist, the guy would stop, or have his stream shut down. As for Faker streaming his games, IIRC, he is not allowed to stream them due to some KESPA shenanigans.
