So apologies to AlterKot if he took offense to me warning him. I think that at least half, if not 3/4 of the people that read GD do not read Off-topic. In that light I think that a PSA and a modnote would be pretty nice here.

There wasn't a PSA for it in OT, but I agree a modnote for awareness is probably not a horrible idea, at least for now.

Flamers sting a lot more when there is some actual truth behind the flames Like, I can go call DL a trash AD carry but he knows he's one of, if not the best marksman in NA, and by knowing that it's a lot easier to brush me off. tl;dr: thick skin is easier to develop if you're good

Thick skin is more an attribute of confidence in one's abilities, and less about "not giving a fuck about what people think". The best sift through the flaming, find the constructive feedback, and better themselves. And confidence isn't to be mistaken for arrogance.

the onus is on players themselves to manage their mental health. community interaction is a two way street where either party can choose to disengage at any time - 'hey all, i'm going dark on social media for a bit to focus on my game' has historically been met with vocal support, and those who are martyring players and criticizing the community need to realize that brand building through fan interaction comes at the cost of knowing what the community is saying about you, good or bad

He's been under the microscope of community flame for a very long time post S2 until alliance really picked their game up but he didn't really seem to take it to heart and focused on improving his game which at least in terms of individual play does reflect in how he's improved. I'll be honest, the community was fucking retarded about froggen. Even in s3 when he refused to play zed, he was still easily one of the best mids in EU.

Also, Monte's new obsession with "coms", while pretending clg does good strategic plays(which now people are pretending is reality) is making him boring.

It's just easier to say. CLG's strategic play has gotten a lot better since Monte, can't really deny that.

It just means people have to start being less stupid. So yeah, maybe it's gonna be a purge...

Roffles has been permed, and moderation is going to become more stringent on this subforum.

If you listen to him talk about the game long enough there are times when he straight up attempts to extract skill/execution. It's almost to the point of being funny when you consider a world where this is true the coach (His job) is the most valuable player.
