Most adults are mature enough to accept that one game isn't that big of a deal, but there are a lot of younger players/less stable people who really can't cope with messing up. It's pretty rare to have people actually flip out, but people refusing handshakes/just standing up and leaving after they lose, not wanting to talk to anyone and just leaving etc. are pretty common. And I remember beating some up and coming wunderkind, (he was like 10 or 12 or something, and ~1900-2000 elo) who playing first board for his clubs b team, through a rather tricky combination he'd missed in a game i was losing, and he was inches away from a full breakdown ![]() The lack of things to blame it on make most people not rage, but it makes the few people who handle losses really badly actually explode (or sometimes implode) when they fuck up. Doesn't help that it also attracts a lot of the less socially adept people as well.

Gurren Lagann doesn't have a plot. It has drills that will pierce the heavens. Just who in the hell do you think Trigger are?

That's the point, though. It's not even about the plot after awhile, it's just some meta-poster child of the nekketsu.
