Also, every enemy jungler seems to camp for the Garen, which is extremely annoying because being down levels to a Garen makes it literally impossible to ever trade. I don't remember this champion being so annoying to lane against. Who pick?

I don't know how true that is (don't know much about top lane), but that's what I hear from players. I have played Lissandra vs Garen before. It's nice never being hit. Ever.

I've also had success with Cho'gath, Kayle, and Pantheon. People seem to think Trynd is bad against Garen but I find it's pretty even actually, and as long as you ult before he does, you'll win the trade. Also, if you can safely farm as nasus (which you should know how to do as a Nasus player), late game you will destroy a Garen. Build your iceborn and try to farm Q as much as possible. Garen's silence is negatable because Nasus's Q stays charged for so long. Start 2 beads and pots and youll be fine as long as you are safe.

Shen eats garen alive, the only way garen can possibly deal with vorpral spam is to spin into your creeps in which case he pushes his lane, eats creep damage, and you can merrily ki strike and taunt out. In fact, at early levels, if you have a full wave of creeps, he can't even do that as your vorpral+ki+creeps out trades his QE combo. Once you start getting items, it just turns into a farm fest where he becomes useless and you carry your team to victory.

I think he's an american famous streamer who plays Garen a lot and proxy farm and do other silly things like dancing in front of the enemy team, etc..

doesnt benefit from attack speed and better mana pool from frozen heart, or the increased healing from spirit visage. Also doesn't give any cdr whatsoever until you complete the entire item and its still only half that of the other items not the best idea if i wanted to stack both resists id just get negatron chain vest and kindlegem even if jaxs damage was 50:50 magic/physical it would still only be barely better to get even amounts of mr/armour

Anything that's ranged and got a disengage tool does well against Singed. Kayle is the worst if you want to play her top lane. Top lane Lulu is pretty effective too, same with Vayne. If you want a more conventional pick then it's gotta be Renekton. It's always Renekton.

The matchup balances on a knifes edge. You're always close to a random all in attempt and have to play scared but if he takes damage he can regen back. At some point Regen Garen is hard to outsustain just due to drawing creep aggro if you're not carefully using the brush. On October 23 2013 22:58 Numy wrote: Isn't Jax pretty decent too? It becomes a farmoff which jax loves? If you're talking about vs Garen, I almost always lose lane to Garen as Jax. Personally I don't think I know which champion shuts Garen down on championselect. People tend to say Teemo Elise Jayce and Yorick do but those guys are supposed to counter everything. I've seen Warwicks that weren't fed fight Garens and win though.

in a nutshell, fiora is an ult bot that uses her other skills to get into the fight. riven wants to take advantage of her mobility and very low cooldowns (2 of which cc, something fiora is conspicuously lacking) to get off multiple rounds of skills. yes, wind slash can do aoe like blade waltz and yes, fiora also has low cooldowns, but it's possible to draw forced comparisons like these between pretty much any two champions (vlad is an aoe ult bot with low cooldowns! zed easily one combos squishies and does substantial aoe in the process in ideal scenarios!) and to do so overlooks core playstyle differences the best laning picks against singed are early game bullies with cc such as riven and jarvan. ranged champions are also an option provided that they can deal with singed just pushing them to tower in reponse to harrass. farming with him and outscaling him is an option as well, but there aren't very many champions apart from trynd and jax that can do this due to singed scaling very well himself. at the end of the day, singed is a skill matchup in most situations, so there's no real need to venture beyond comfort picks against him
