The way to be a Dyrus is to play one billion games at high ELO since closed beta. Not everyone did it, but most people COULD have done it. People like Wild are different. Most people just can't do what he does. The only reason you wouldn't is maybe only having 4 turtles and then one shot calling player on jungle or support.

altec streams? on Twitch or azubu? I've never seen him playing before, only heard he's good.

Morello so incompetent....

He thinks it's a bad thing that supports don't gain any gold, but from my perspective, this is what i love about supports; being able to maximize and utilize yourself, without getting cs, and rely solely on your champion's kit. Meh, i guess from a wider perspective it's probably for the better, since like 70% of all supports have no idea what they're doing. People just won't accept the fact that boots5+sightstone+oracles is a core, and you should only focus on wards afterwards. This playstyle IS fun, but i can definitely see that some people would consider it a problem because of how the map is created (you can have pretty much full vision of one side of the map with 7-8 wards), but i still think making supports gold-dependant is a step in the wrong direction. But time will tell, i guess.

I think the problem needs to be distiguished--it's not so much that supports don't get gold, but that supports don't get items. You don't have to change their income if you create itemization options that are compelling within their current income.

I do think it's a problem that supports end up with the same items every game, because leaving them out of the itemization aspect of the game is not a good thing. But giving them item options that are competitive with things they are buying should be the way to accomplish this, as we've discussed many times.

But maybe that's also because RIOT makes such shitty items for supports. Banner of Command, Shard of True Ice, Twin shadows, Ohmwrecker, like when was the last time you saw these in a competetive game on a support? I think we've debated that making items in the line of 1k-1,5k with small effective auras or a usage would be a proper approach, but i lost my faith in RIOT, so i'm expecting support items that costs the same as runic/locket did on release.

50% of current "supports" are midlaners anyway, so why not toplaners and junglers next? ~~

i think dyrus is also very much living proof that negative attitude causes you to lose games, I've seen him tilt pretty hard in solo queue to some random shit, like blaming his lost lane because his jungler tried lvl 2 ganking mid or something.

I think they're going in the wrong direction for supports TBH. Yes worst case scenario gold flow could be better(no kills, losing lane), but aside from that, it's that there are no compelling items to get as a support because the good items cost too much, and the low tier items suck.

Imagine eleisa's miracle had an active that restored 10%hp/mana over 5 seconds with a minute cooldown,. Moderate to high impact, but pretty bad slot efficiency.

I don't think he understands supports buy only wards because they are the highest impact items they can afford.

And increasing gold flow to non-farmers is a bad fix to the problem. Real fix is to remedy the allocation of what gold they can get.

The income for supports is fine at the moment imo. They just need a reason to buy something other than wards/vision items.

I'd love to see more Shards of True Ice and Twin Shadows, but what's the point in getting them. The best contribution you can make is vision control. That's the bigger issue than income.

Honestly, the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of simply capping wards per player. While it's inelegant from a design perspective, given limits on potions already, there is precedent for limiting consumables per player. Means that while yes, support will grab sightstone+full wards whenever they can, alternate sources of wards (aka solo laners+ADC) is also needed for vision. Shifts the gold burden away from supports (and grants leeway for non-vision itemization) and the jungler onto the team as a whole.


That, and reworking support items. Needs more slot inefficiency in exchange for more impactful actives.

I'd envision something along the lines of a buying cooldown (aka, 1 ward per 2 minutes or somesuch) per player, with a starting pool of ~4 or somesuch.

If that can't be coded, then yes, a low cap on wards (2-3). Oracles also needs a rework.

I think some mechanic to force all laners to contribute equally to warding is needed. Like a shared ward pool with 10 wards and each player can buy two (green or pink). and only when those wards expire/are destroyed then that same member can buy another 2 ward again. This way if you want to have 10 wards on the map, then everybody must contribute

that + sightstone would be nice. Might make junglers buy sightstones alot more often though and oracles / pinks would need some changes
