As far as comparing LoL picks to Dota picks the only real thing that interests me is if more bans generates more heros played, outside of the obvious raw numbers situation that 4 additional heros are involved in the pick/ban phase by default.
Champion balance isn't really a huge concern of mine I think a lot of people perceive champions to be a lot stronger than they are, I really like this version of the game, there are some strong champions but I honestly feel like if you wanted to you could go triple respect ban w/o hurting yourself, it's not anything like the purple side bans in champions spring.
on a similar note I love what SKT did with their last two games, they've effectively put the onus on banning Zed on to the other team reguardless of purple or blue by showing they can play against it, unless you ban Riven which really is just banning Zed if you are blue anyway.

The only reason booths work in SC is because white noise is pumped in through the headphones. The actual booth does nothing. Like the old MBC booths were literally cardboard and plywood. Heck i think the OGN booths still seep in some crowd noise as well.
I'm pretty sure if you wanted a soundproof booth, it's not that difficult to build. White noise in SC2 is pumped through speakers in the booth, not the headphones themselves. High quality(aviation grade) headsets are probably exceptionally good at canceling out white noise.
And then on building it. If you want fully sound proof booths.
You have your advertisement/screens/whatever else attached to the outside. In between that and the booth, you have sound insulating foam, and then behind that you build your booth out of some fairly solid material. Double paned windows(off the shelf, windowless), make sure you use grouting to completely isolate it from outside air. Use a door with liberal weather stripping.
For airconditioning, use a unit that recirculates air if possible. Use speaker inside to pump out white noise.
Can probably get -40dB with the full booth+headset+iem setup, and even the mic's are around -20dB.
Booths are far, far superior to having an open stage, especially if you actually build them to be soundproof.

The issue isn't the headphones blocking out noise it's the mics picking up the noise. The headphones tend to work quite well but the mics are the huge problem.

I'll accept Ziggs as a non-joke ban if GG.EU actually picks Ziggs today.
Otherwise we're currently sitting at 53 unique picks/bans.

concerning the Doublelift-Imp interview...
The translator also took the liberty of translating Imp's "[is he] gay?" to "why does he want to know [how many girlfriends I have]?" But yeah, this guy is bar none the best Korean translator I've seen. All we need now is a Bischu x Imp interview! Travis pls. Doublelift making this interview really awkward with his questions.

Only way to deal with the mic is isolating the mic, which you do by having a booth.

Bear in mind that once you get the ambient nose low enough with a soundproof booth, teams can communicate without headsets inside the booth. It won't be perfect as far as sound blocking goes, but allowing teams to comfortably communicate without external software/hardware is a huge plus.
You can set the mic pickup threshold after isolating it to above all but the loudest cheers. You won't stop everything, but you can certainly stop a lot.

Yeah I know that, but I think giving the option for teams to play without VOIP software actually goes a long way to making the experience more comfortable. That option simply doesn't exist if you don't have booths.

I don't think that works. If you can hear your teammates without using voip software, you can hear the casters if nothing is going on. Booths can only go so far in terms of isolation. It'd be like talking through an exterior door(with full weather stripping and such), not clear, not loud, but audible.

Booth within a booth, with an ultra low pressure environment in between. Would cost a fortune, be exceedingly heavy and impractical, but you won't need any sound isolation parts whatsoever apart from the near vacuum, but it'd be pretty much soundproof apart from vibrations through the floor.

How come you're at 53 and nexusp is at 55?
And I don't think it's really fair to say that Ziggs is a joke ban. You might equally say that Voli and Syndra from OMG yesterday were joke picks, because they're undefeated and probably can't avoid being #1 or #2 at this point.

who cares if it's a "joke" ban?
it's a ban and a ban is a ban.

I had Syndra and Volibear written down, but not in my totals.
It's entirely fair to say Ziggs was a joke ban. Mazzerin doesn't play him, he was never picked in LPL, and OMG benefited from having more access to champions who typically draw bans.
You can't as easily say that Volibear/Syndra were joke picks because they've been seen in fairly recent competitive play, OMG actually had to play them out, and OMG also won.
