that's why they increased the slot efficiency. still it's sitting in the same camp as botrk, which is an item so astoundingly stupid it competes with phantom dancer, bloodthirster, wriggles and tiamat all at once. additionally the stats are just terrible so it doesn't appeal to these hypothetical jungling melee carries it should go on. plus for some reason they made the ward terrible as well. having to use it every 90 seconds to avoid losing uptime is just awful.

First time I saw DBlade Elise was in the LPL finals, OMGLovelin did it in game 4.
I used to go Boots/3 on her because her spiderlings are very effective at tanking buffs. You used to be able to smite blue and still do red, but I think it requires some more finesse now.

You really don't need to start machete anymore, I start boots on a few champs such as voli, I don't do utility spec, but the boots still help out quite a bit considering no one else starts boots.
Idk, boots might not work in lcs level games or anything like that, but in solo queue / normal premades they let me make plays early game and that tends to be enough to buy a spirit stone first back and then it's just me going even / ahead item wise, and whatever lane I went to is also ahead.
I do agreed with trick on the fact that you have to be comfortable with a champ if you're going to do boots / utility though, machete is much safer, so on champs I'm still learning like hecarim, I do machete, but now that I've gotten a few games down with him, I might start boots.
On that note, opinions on hec after the Q mana cost increase?
I just tend to take the 2nd blue now to keep up my mana.
